These Bamboo Skewers are a good length and can be used for BBQ and Kebabs. The skewers can accommodate a full serving of meat. When these skewers are soaked thoroughly with water prior to use there are no issues with burning or breakage. With initial inspection, I noticed minimal splintering in the wood. It is advertised as being suitable for toasting marshmallows. However, I would not use these for making s'mores as they would be too short to comfortably toast marshmallows before an open fire. There would be a risk of burning fingers especially for younger children.

I like skewers and use them for many things, from mini dowels to plant stakes for small plants. These are pretty good, not splintery. A bit smaller than I would like. They stabbed through the plastic pouch. *Tip* Before you put your food on the skewers soak them for at least an hour so they don't burn - even in the oven. If cooking on the grill you might want to cover the ends with aluminum foil.
