Google Nest Mini + Smart Plug 2nd Generation Smart Speaker - Snow

I like how the Google Nest Mini is actually a search engine where as the Echo Dot is not. So the Nest Mini's answers are typically more accurate. The only thing I do not like is that other than the lights on the top there is no indication that it heard you when you ask something.

Was gifted this by a friend. I use it every day. It does have it quirks but what product like this doesn't. I have all my lights and cameras link aswell. I have YouTube music subscription and I love I can ask for any song and it at my ears within seconds. Definitely going to buy more for the rest of my home.

Great little device. Connects my google home in every room. Turn lights on and off my smart bulbs, Controls my TV chrome cast, finds my phone! and you can ask it any question and it will get results from the internet. Pretty handy. I have one in almost every room of the house.

Usually once I got the mini inspired me to build my home smart now I also have google nest hub first generation and course mini I would like get nest smoke detector which also come google assistant I would make my setup complete but unfortunately I lost my job I would have to put my Smart home automation build on hold onto futher notice since my budget have come in at but I'm very happy with my google mini is I was great to receive that was starting point to my smart home thanks

So my nest mini came with a smart light kit, and it seems to stop working at random intervals. At first I thought it was interfering with the othe nest mini I have, so I unplugged one and it didn't help. All the other features seem to work as normal, just not the bulbs that came with it (and designed to be installed with per the GE website). Usually a reboot if the mini solves the problem for a few days

Generally ok, Bluetooth integration could be better. Example: I have one in my kitchen, and I prefer to listen to it through a Harmon-Kardon Invoke bluetooth speaker. I set it as the default playback device for the Nest Mini in the Home app, but every time I use it, I have to reset the Invoke as the default. It should be able to retain the setting between uses.

Recently started getting the "something went wrong, try again in a few seconds" error on 1 or 2 minis. Trying again right after works for some reason. I reset minis back to factory default, re-setup all my lights and devices, and it still happened. Magically went away on it's own. But now 3 of my bedroom lights show on the Home app as being IN my bedroom, but when I'm in that room and I say "Lights on", only 2/5 lights will turn on. App says they're in the same room as the mini, when I click the lights on and off thru the app, it works. Voice activation skips those 3. Also, give us the option to change the feedback tone ffs. I hate that it "dings" when you command it from the same room, but gives verbal feedback when it's in another. My family room is directly next to my kitchen. If I'm on the couch and say "Kitchen Lights Off", I can see that they respond. I don't need the mini to tell me what it's doing.Don't have any basis for comparison to automation devices tho.

I have about 5 minis around the house. All but one do exactly what they are supposed to do. One disconnects every couple days. If that is not bad enough, it disconnects in the middle of the night and resets, turning the volume up and waking you up if its nearby. I reconnect every so often to see if an update comes down to fix this. No such luck yet. Apparently I am not the only one with this problem, and its a known issue, but Google does nothing to fix it.

I have had the mini for years and started to get the dreaded “something went wrong” error, or the “glitch” error. I tried all of the recommended fixes online and nothing worked. I then bought a new one and as soon as it took the latest update, the new one started with the error as well. They are now gone and have turned to the Apple HomePod to control my smart home and couldn't be happier. In face it has worked so well that I bought two more and all three work great.
