Google Nest Protect (Battery) 2nd Generation - 3 Pack, White

Google smoke/CO detectors came in perfect condition. No fault of Sam's, but only learned after opening that they expire after 10 years and must be replaced...date of manufacturing was already 10 months old, which followed by expiration date 10 years sooner. No where on outside of box can these dates be determined,, not even by serial number according to Google support. So consumer should know that they'll have to lay out more cash in 10 years...in my case at least another $860.00 for 7 detectors...could be expensive for larger home.

Love these smoke detectors, I love that they talk to you and they communicate with each other even when they are not wired in. I put one in my garage so I would be alerted in my bedroom if I had a fire in the garage. All total I installed 7, 5 wired and 3 battery.

I'm a realtor and I bought this product as a closing gift for one of my clients who after a home inspection it was determined that the home needed new smoke detectors. Made a great gift! I also have these in my home and they are great, easy to install and we love that we can get alerts even when we aren't home!

Very happy with them so far. No false alarms yet. Pretty easy to install. The programing took longer than actual installation.

Love them wish motion lights are brighter at night

We have a senior dog who is sensitive to smoke and loud sounds. When an alarm goes off, she will urinate on the carpet and become frightened. The Nest Protect gives us a heads up with time to get her out of the house while checking on the smoke or silencing the alarm. I love the app and being able to keep a log. We wanted to replace our old smoke detectors and we're so happy with our decision.

Bought this and installed it but have had no need to use it. No fire smoke or carbon monoxide alerts. It tests okay.

I love Nest Products for their sleek design and software ecosystem. Nest devices are easy to setup . I have many Nest products that are all connected via the Nest app and they integrated well. However, Nest products are expensive.

Bought one unit as a upgrade. Initial cost was pricey. It does have a lot of nice features e.g. the good night promise verification. So I upgrade the other smoke detector to a Protect as well. Now the fun began with connectivity between the two and the router. Thought I had it working until the goodnight light was not green but yellow. Had to call support to figure out what the yellow meant.

I like how easy it was to install and set up the device. I can't tell how accurate the alarm is though since nothing has triggered it. But it pains me to know that Nest Protect has a bunch of sensors in it, like for motion humidity and temperature, which we can't utilize at all. Please update the software so we could get full value out of these sensors! Let us see the temperature and humidity levels, let us program smart devices based on these sensors! I'd love to have my hall way lights turn on when Nest Protect motion sensor is triggered!
