Google Nest Thermostat Trim Kit - Deep Fog

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed the new Nest about a week ago, and used this nest trim plate. The trim plate was easy to install. Came with a few screws that you drill into the wall. I used a small handheld level to ensure it was straight and marked off the wall with some pencil markings. Once I did that, I fed the wires through the center hole, and mounted the Nest device onto the trim plate. I believe the total time was likely 15 minutes to get the trim plate up, level, installed, and paired with my phone app. I used this trim plate because the previous thermostat was large and left a bunch of unsightly holes in the wall that this trim plate covered up. Sure, I could have likely spackled and painted those holes, but this did a nice job of covering them up and blending in with the wall nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that they offer this face plate. It is excellent if you have an old school horizontal thermostat and are upgrading to this model. It will hide the section of wall previously covered by your older model. If you already had a previous nest and your wall looks good then this add on isn't necessary. Also. Super easy to install!

I like how it looks and it doesn't look like an extra thing - it looks like it belongs with the nest thermostat. Sleek, simple, just what I'd expect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I added the trim kit when I got the google nest and The trim kit allowed me to adjust the location of my google nest when installed compared to my old thermal replaced. Easy to install as well. Not needed for every application

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trim plate is a great add-on to the Nest - it covers the larger hole in the wall from my previous thermostat, and it looks super modern and sleek. If you're replacing a larger thermostat than the Nest, or you just want a more finished, professional look, then I'd recommend adding to your purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Nest trim plate is the perfect cover up. It masked where the older larger thermostat use to be. It blends into the wall so it isn't an eyesore. Highly recommended if converting from and older and larger thermostat.

I don't know how to remove thermostats, doorbells etc from walls before painting (well actually I am lazy) but I love changing up paint color so I repaint at least once a year, painting right up to the edges of our ancient t-stat. We decided to upgrade to a Nest, and boy was there a mess on the wall when DH pulled the old one off: screw holes, multiple edges of raised paint, dents, all of which would have shown with the new Nest. However this trim plate, which matches the Nest perfectly covered it all up. You would never know what kind of mess I had behind there!! Easy to install, well worth the small added cost to have a professional, clean installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Nest thermostat trim kit is white in color and matches with the Nest E thermostat. The instructions are easy to follow. I used a Phillips screwdriver to install the plate to the wall before installing the Nest E.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a customized, unobtrusive accessory for the Nest thermostat. I put four anchors and screws in the wall and this was secured in five minutes. It blends in with the wall and the unit and looks great with the thermostat!

I installed it during the initial set-up, but opted to not use the large trim plate as I liked the look of just the puck only on the wall. The plate just did not appeal to me visually. Maybe if I had a large hole in the wall the plate would have been nice to use to cover the hole. The quality of the plate however seemed nice , but I like the aesthetics of the thermostat without the trim plate.
