The devil is in the details
1. You have to create an account with email and register in order to use it.
2. once you make an account, you have to choose a brand on car and then download/ update the software to the app on your phone like an expansion pack. The base app cannot read codes otherwise.
3. you can only download three manufacturers and after this you have to pay for additional ones. (You can scan multiple cars in the same brand though)
4. Once you add the software, you have to tell the app what the vin number of the car is and then it guesses about what features or electronic systems it has (and it is sometimes wrong).
5. Once the app generally has an idea of what car you're scanning, you can do limited real time monitoring of a few systems but not everything.
6. And to check a malfunction indicator light in your car you can't just go straight to the srs system and and clear your airbag light for example - because...
7. As far as I can tell you have to do an entire computer/system scan and wait for the results to clear a light. And the scan takes like 3-5 minutes every time.
8. And then when you DO see random codes you can see the "summary" of systems scanned and error codes found, but you can't clear INDIVIDUAL codes one at a time. You have to clear all.
9 It does not fully find and then clear every dash light on every car
10. Summary: it works, but has limitations and can be very slow and frustrating.
