GoPro - Media Mod for HERO8 - Black

I am very happy with the media mod. It works as described. I needed HDMI connectivity as well as audio line in and option to use the charger instead of battery. The HDMI connection is perfect for me. It connects to TV, computer, and my AMEM streaming console. The microphone is really good. I have a collection of high end mics at my studio and the one included with the media mod is great. The line connection works great too.

It seems like GoPro does. When you have a Camera that is meant to be adventure and the same company sells your product to make your camera better you would expect that it was waterproof. This is the second attachment product that I bought from them that malfunctioned when they got wet. I had the gimbal and now the Media Mod.

What a joke, this thing is never in stock. I bought the gopro 8 when it was released because I wanted to use this mount along with the light and display which was supposed to be released in December of 2019. GoPro definitely baited us on this one. Maybe by the time the 9 is released this will be available. GoPro is not the same company it once was. What other company would do such a thing.

Me regalaron la cámara hero8 black, y desde que apareció, he tratado de comprar el media mod. Ahora voy por 6 meses y no hay en existencia en el mundo. No pongan la excusa del Covid-19, normalmente, al sacar un producto a la venta, ya tienen que vender al mismo tiempo los accesorios.. que lástima, que por tan buena cámara, lo destruyan por los accesorios que le hacen falta y no lo tengan en existencia... por eso les doy esa puntuación, a ver que cuando vendan el proximo producto tengan ya los accesorios al mismo tiempo a la venta.

Der Ton wird erkennbar besser. Jedoch nur im geringen Umfang. Die Installation des Mods funktioniert einfach. Leider erkennt meine GoPro das Microfon nicht mehr. Somit ist dieser Mod komplett unbrauchbar und macht mir persönlich nur Ärger. Ich kann mich bei keiner meiner Touren auf eine reibungslose Funktion verlassen und kann nur hoffen, dass es diesmal klappt. Schade und zu teuer für soviel unausgereifte Technik.

Vous souhaitez boostez votre GoPro 8 avec ce module ? Vous avez bien raison. D'autant plus si vous avez tendance à devoir vous promenez avec votre micro-canon personnel et votre module lumière. Après avoir testé ce module, je n'ai trouvé qu'un seul point négatif, à mon niveau. Il me manque un emplacement supplémentaire d'accrochage (lumière supp ou autre), Mise à part cela, je suis totalement satisfait de cet achat. Le module tient ses promesses. Merci GoPro.

This is very expensive for what it is, a simple piece of plastic with basic microphones and a few connections. This would not be so bad if it worked. Mine arrived and did not work. GoPro asked me to send it back and then tell me they don't have any replacements to send. Why they also say you can buy one here online is questionable. My advice is to wait until the GoPro Hero 9 is announced as the MediaMod may not be compatible with that.

Honestly, 5 star unit, until, it rained for literally 60seconds before I got it covered, dried it in rice for a week and still wont work. Disappointed though, I'm sure its been over 2 years since purchase and this is the only time I'd gotten caught in rain when filming. (original red button unit) How would I fix the audio port? I Really need this to work or cant really film as intended! Thank you in advanced, more water proof/resistant stuff would be amazing! #HELPME! #THANKYOU! #GOPRO

PROS: I love the Bi-directional mic, it was very clear. I did however mount my own directional shotgun on top as well as the light mod. CONS: I don't like that it doesn't connect to my Windows 10 PC directly from the media mod. I'm forced to remove the GoPro from the Media Mod, remove the battery, then reinsert the battery and then connect to my PC with a USB-C to USB-C cable. There must be something missing in the USB-C from the GoPro to the USB-C in the Media Mod, preventing the connection for more than just charging. Being that easy PC connectivity was my number one reason for getting the mod, I'm very disappointed. :(

The only issue I have with GoPro's website to purchase this item, "When a purchase is made, a hold is placed on your card. After 2 days an additional updated purchase amount is pulled from your card in addition to the hold that is already there. Eventually the hold is released, I had mad a several hundred dollar purchase and I was unable to access my held funds." buyer beware when purchasing from here. MediaMod is perfect.
