What I like is that it isn't hot, its just cheese dip. We are. in our 80's and although we have always loved Mexican food, our bodies are rebelling against anything spicy. So we can have our cheese dip without paying a price. I use it on other things also.
I use this for everything! Nachos, tacos, quesadillas, anything that needs a little more cheese. The original has no spice at all, while the mild is a little too hot for some of my family. I personally love it with a bowl of salsa, cantina or restaurant style tortilla chips, and a good movie.
Gordos cheese is the best cheese dip I have purchased. It is consistent each time. I take out some and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Take it out and stir it and put it back in for approximately 30 more seconds once you start eating you can’t stop. Yummy
Restaurant like in taste and consistency. Heat in microwave at 50% power for a few minutes, stir and repeat for a minute or so and it is ready to enjoy.
If you are looking for that authentic, restaurant-style Mexican white cheese dip, Gordo’s Original Queso is the closest you can get without actually sitting down at a cantina. I’ve tried plenty of jarred, shelf-stable dips, but the fact that this is refrigerated makes a world of difference in flavor and texture.
my family loves this queso. we love that it is not spicy at all... so many competitors have peppers. etc. it is also a nice consistency... sometimes we don't heat it for the entire recommended time because my husband likes it a bit thicker. have been buying for awhile now and will continue to buy this brand
A lot of the time this stuff is kind of thin when heated and not too bad when you add some Tabasco sauce. The past two containers I’ve had have had a weird, thick consistency and the flavor is not good. It’s like they added a bunch of flour to it. I’ve been really disappointed.
I don't know what this is but definitely not queso and not even sure if its cheese. When its warmed up, it has the consistency of water and the little flavor it does have is almost unappetizing. I'm going to end up throwing it all out. Very dissapponted.
This queso tastes bad!!!! Yesterday was my first time purchasing this queso. I gave it a try because it says “Restaurant Style.” I didn't expect to have to season and doctor up this queso. The taste was BEYOND bland. Maybe adding a touch of seasoning here and there, but geesh. No conventional term comes to mind to describe the flavor. The first words that come to mind are “hollow” and “empty” to describe this queso’s flavor. I bought two containers; I threw out the one I opened, and I will be returning the unopened one.
I saw really great reviews of this cheese sauce so I decided to give it a try. I hated it, I would never get it again. There’s so many better brands. I think this one needed more spice added because it was very bland and bad water tasting. It does not taste like Mexican restaurant queso, if it was they would be out of business
