This expanding glue was just what I needed to bond irregular wood surfaces. Just don't make the mistake (that I made in the past) of buying too much of this glue thinking it's more for your money. Buy only what you need for a job. Once opened, the glue might keep for a week or two, but not forever.
I have been buying this glue for years. It is a great glue to fix just about anything—I use it mainly for fixing broken plant pots. It makes a clay pot like new! I have used it for mending wood, clay, and ceramics. It is water tight after the fix! I highly recommend this product.
I was happy with the speed of delivery
This is the original water-activated formula that can fix ANYTHING, porous or slick. Working as a traveling nurse I ended up living in a hotel room for over a year! I realized quickly that they weren't well-staffed for repairs, and my coat, and clothes hanger (where you can put your suitcases up top) fell off the wall. I knew maintenance wouldn't handle the job, but I knew Gorilla Glue could! Before leaving for my overnight shift, I Gorilla Glued that rack, back up even putting it into the holes where the screws came out. I made sure it was watered well, left for work and when I came home 14 hours later, that rack was up, and it held everything from my scrubs to my winter coats for as long as I was stuck there. I'm sure I could have done chin-ups on that thing! I've repaired a metal fence, attached hooks that were supposed to hold on (but came off as soon as I hung something on them), and repaired anything from furniture to pottery. Don't mess around with "super-glues". Skip the hype, get it right the first time! You may need to make sure you don't put TOO much, but if you do, sanding can hide any bubbling over.
why on Earth would someone order a large bottle of gorilla glue? in the ten times that I have had bottles of gorilla glue I have never gotten down to the last third of the bottle without it being totally dried up and unusable. The screw-on cap helps but it still happens. it just depends on how much of the bottle you want to waste. there's got to be a better way.
I would give the glue five stars had I not been disappointed with the shelf life after opening the bottle. But it has worked well where I needed to bond wood that is occasionally exposed to water.
This glue is excellent. I've used it to repair leather shoes. The repair has yet to wear out and it's been years. Over time however the glue does tend to dry out.
Takes too long to dry
only for tasks that glueing-curing times be> 1 hr
Compared to the WHITE Gorilla Glue, this ORIGINAL (Yellow) glue doesn't compare. It's takes 3 times longer to dry, and unless you like the ugly golden brown color, must be painted. I'd like to know why the company DISCONTINUED producing the WHITE Gorilla Glue. I want an expanding foam product, but no one is going to want to hold pieces in place for 45 minutes while this ORIGINAL glue dries. If you don't it pushes the pieces apart. Most of my projects cannot be taped or clamped in place so I must hold them while the glue cures. The WHITE glue took about 15 minutes before the expansion stopped. This version takes 45 minutes!!!!
