I bought this by mistake and I love it. I will be buying it again. It smells and tastes very fresh and is so much easier to use than fresh basil. Added bonus there is no waste, you can put in your refrigerator and save it for next time you need fresh basil. It doesn''t replace fresh whole leaves but works great in dressings and sauces.
I bought this for a specific recipe that I needed fresh basil for. I love these tubes of garlic and ginger so I gave the basil a try. And I am so glad I did. The basil tasted even better than fresh and I wasn't pressed for time to have to use up fresh herbs quickly. Amazing basil flavor that tasted even better than fresh.
Use this ALL the time…in salads, pasta sauces…anything that can handle a great basil flavor. It’s so much easier than chopping fresh %26 it tastes as good if not better! GREAT flavor! I use it most everyday Highly recommend all these tube herbs..
Love the ease and convenience of this product. It's nice to be able to use fresh basil on an as needed basis. It tastes just like the fresh from the garden stuff. I was always hesitant to buy, so I appreciate the trial. Now I know it's easy to use, tastes great, lasts long, stays fresh, lets you always have fresh herbs on hand.
I would much rather buy a stir-in paste from Gourmet Garden than get a bunch of fresh herbs, which sounds counterintuitive, but let me explain. In terms of basil, my options are very limited if I want fresh. I can buy a complete plant in a pot, or I can buy a small plastic container of a small handful of fresh leaves. The small plastic containers are never enough to my liking, so I always end up buying a few of them. The extras remain in my fridge until they get slimy and moldy, and I throw them away. It doesn't help at all that the plastic packages are very expensive. With the paste in a tube, I can use as little or as much as I want and keep the rest in the fridge for much longer. That is absolutely more economical, and I also find the flavor is more pronounced. I definitely recommend this product over fresh if you are tired of spending so much money and only using a portion of what you purchase.
I love trying new things. When I was given the opportunity to try Gourmet Garden Basil Stir-In Paste for my free review. Honestly, I was thrilled to try something new. I decided to use the product for our Italian soup night. It was the perfect addition. The smell and flavor are fresh and add the dimension my Italian dishes need. A benefit of purchasing this stir-in is the ease of not needing to chop fresh or use dried ingredients. It's quick and convenient. This is a product I'd purchase over and over again. I'd also be interested and will look for the other flavors. It's something you'll want to recommend to everyone.
great taste. last for a week or more. easy to use. fresh tasting. i used it on italian liaf with cheese, tomatilla sauce, cheese, and peperoni. it was absolutely fabulouse
This convenient herbal paste in a tube is a great idea - and does satisfy the flavor component... but used in the wrong application (on bruschetta for instance) and the texture is really off the mark. I suppose the product is what it is. But I don't think I'd buy it again...
Sent out of date oroduct!! Purchased and delivered 7/25. Expiration-BUB date in 2023! Can't get a return , just lucky I caught it! 2nd time Walmart sent out of date products from market! BEWARE and check all dates. I was lazy, but no more walmart groceries for me
I bought this product on July 1 of 2026 and it had marked an expiration date of July 6. It's advertised as “fresh for weeks” but the product expired in just 5 days since I purchased it.
