GOYA Puff Pastry Dough For Turnovers, 12 Ct, 11.60 oz

Quality packaging, each separated with plastic film so this made them so easy to use, not much room for stuffing AND closing....but great for small hand held snacking....I made sausage and cheese...one test rolled and two folded and closed...I need to cook them a little longer on the next round... these were only in 13 minutes.

The baking discs are the best for making pastelillos or empanadas. I fill them with my favorite meat or cheese, then cook them in the air fryer for 8–10 minutes on each side. They come out crispy and delicious puff pastry dough! I wish Walmart I would love for them to be available in a larger size than 5 inches.

There are a couple of brands that are more flaky but Goya has improved a lot and I am happy I can order it delivered. Others are harder to find and I usually have to drive outside of my neighborhood to get them. My grandkids all love empanadas and I cook and freeze a lot to help my kids have an easy dinner on busy days. My one big complain is that they are often out of stock and Walmart does not keep their site updated. It is frustrating to place an order, add other things to get to free delivery and I get everything else but not these. This time I ordered 6 and got 5. It felt lucky. I recommend them.

I bought these instead of puff pastry and used ground beef. They were easy to make and tasted fantastic!

Purchased to make mini calzones, and they worked out great. Everyone raved about them and they disappeared quickly.

With guava, crab, salmon, chicken, meat insides , prepared 12 to 36 at a time. Placed them in the freezer and cooked them in the air fryer. Delicious and perfect each time.

Use these discs within a week of thawing in the fridge for smooth empanada forming. They fry well without over soaking oil. They are the perfect size for an appetizer.

I love this and now I can't find them in this app anymore. So disappointed.

First off, I would like to say that I like Goya products. However, this project was a big bust. Very disappointing. First off the puff pastry is frozen. When I opened the package one of the. discs were shattered into a million pieces. Obviously it was completely unusable. The puff pastry is not very puffy at all. It also is not very flexible. It has the texture of a tortilla firm and not very flexible. The dough cracks and breaks extremely easily when you are trying to fold it over or crimp it. they also have not very much flavor. The discs are not 5 inches in diameter, they are actually 4 1/2 inches. So when you fold them in half you actually only have 2 inches to put filling because you need that half an inch in order to crimp them very well so that your filling does not squeeze out. That would not give you very much room for filling. They might be good for dumplings or pierogies. You might be able to squeeze in a fourth of a cup into them. They are more cost-effective though pricewise. I was making my own with refrigerated puff pastry dough. And I could not get 12 discs for empanadas with 1 sheet of dough. I guess it is back to making my own.
