The first thing I noticed about this car-seat is the weight. It's pretty heavy. Before taking it out of the box, I assumed the weight was from multiple backs, but no, the one back converts. The box itself is also very large. I'm thankful for shipping, otherwise-- I would not have been able to get it home. The box took up my whole backseat. You would have to assemble & install the seat in the parking lot if you don't have a van or truck and you have passengers. I think it's better to take advantage of Walmart's free shipping for this item. In the box: One mostly assembled car-seat, owner's manual, warranty card and an odd extra little strap loop thing I'm not sure about. Assembly is easy once you figure out what to do. The directions weren't the best, pictures were a bit small. You basically lift the back and insert into the bottom at an angle until it clicks. Then hook the seat bottom to the tiny hooks on the fabric sides. Then you adjust the headrest, belts etc. by pressing the marked buttons. The car seat itself is very well made. It has what feels like a steel frame by the weight. This car-seat is a more permanent option just because it doesn't seem practical to lug it from car to car. The seat itself is very comfortable. My 2 year old sat in it just to play. The headrest can accommodate kids of all sizes from short to very tall. The headrest also has side bumpers that provide both a safety feature and serve as a support during naps. I highly recommend this car seat; it's the nicest I've ever had!
The Graco Nautilus 65 Booster is one heavy duty and solid product. I have this one setup in my SUV it works perfect, my son loves sitting in it and so far I have not heard him complain about being uncomfortable; as you can see in the photo that I have attached. This is a front facing seat that you will be able to use as your child grows. It has multiple reclining positions and the harness can be adjusted to fit your child's height keeping them safe and secure. Once your child has outgrown the harness you can easily remove it and keep the high back, converting your seat into a booster. • Assembly and installing the seat in my vehicle with the latch system was super easy it only took about 5 minutes. • The seat does not take up a lot of space it fits great in its designated area. • Color selection is excellent works great for a little boy and it looks very sophisticated. • Comfort is superb, cushion all around and the headrest provides extra protection and peace of mind. • Seat has two cup holders and storage; my little boy likes to put his babies/stuffed animals in the cup holders and little toys in the storage. All in all I would say this is an excellent product; it looks good, will grow with your child, extremely comfortable and will give you a great sense of security. Yes, I would highly recommend this item to friends, family and anyone looking for a nice solid booster.
We purchased 4 of these after deciding to harness our small children past 40lb. Our children are not going to be tall enough to use the seat belt correctly on the cheaper seats we had in daddy's car, and our better seats didn't fit in his car correctly.......so we started all over with these. Our kids are 2 (20lb 32 in) and 4.5 (33lb 40 in) and love them. Our 4 year old can buckle and unbuckle himself, which is helpful. Our 2 year old loves the fact hers is just like brothers. They each love the little cubbies and can both reach their drink. Both kids have slept comfortably in them as well. They were easy to set up and install and installed rock solid in both our Chevy Uplander and Buick Rainer. I will say the seat is a bit heavy, but we don't ever take ours out. Their safety means more to us now than ever since a stint in the hospital for one. I am glad we took our pediatrican's advice and got new ones so we could harness them longer. We purchased 2 in store, and then ordered 2 more on line.......saved $15 on the second set.
When installed correctly (remember to kneel in seat when latching seat belt!) Is solid as a rock with no moving. Love how easy it is to loosen straps for getting her out comfortably, and to tighten the straps to restrain her safely. With her old backward facing seat she used to scream incessantly when having to go somewhere but it is so blissfully quiet with this seat. Sometimes when she sleeps in it her head drops forward which seems uncomfortable but not all the time so I think that's more so how she "chooses"to sleep lol I love this seat and so does she.
I have two other children in car seats and this one is my favorite. My 3 year old loves it as well. I Love the colors. I prefer darker colors to hide potential stains. It's perfect for my son! It has the trusty Graco stamp in it so I trusted that it was a good, sturdy, and safe car seat. There is a cushion cover on the bottom buckle for my son's comfort and I really appreciate that. It's the small things that make a product wonderful. It is easy to assemble and set up. It's also easy to strap your child in and adjust the buckles to fit securely. It's not too heavy but it's heavy enough to be secure. The head rest is easily adjustable to grow with your growing child. The sides of the head rest are padded for more comfort added for your child. This isn't a backwards facing car seat so it would be inappropriate for an infant. In my opinion, this is a great car seat and worth it's weight in gold. It's safe and secure, if operated correctly, of course. I would definitely recommend this product. Also, this product comes in different colors for little boys and girls!
This is the Last car seat you will ever need to buy. Just recently having my 5th child I have owned many car seats and booster seats over the years and the Graco Nautilus booster is is definitely a 5 star car seat. Graco really paid attention to detal with this one. Sharp, stylish looks, super comfortable, and lots of little extras to keep the little one happy and safe. I have a 4, 6 and 7 year old so I especially like(appreciate) how easy it is to adjust the headrest and harness to fit which ever child is in the seat, although it will primarily be my 4 year old using it. Fitting the seat to your child is simple with a one-hand headrest and no rethread needed harness adjustment. This seat cradles him perfectly and in the event of a car accident I am confident this seat will keep him well protected. With plenty of plush cushioning and 3-position recline he is sure to be comfortable too. This booster seat is easy to install using your cars seat belts or the LATCH system provided. The slick black and grey with white pinstripe detailing makes for a sporty stylish looking seat. My son calls it his race car seat and loves to sit it in. Of course he especially likes the cubby holes on either side on the inner portion of the armrest. He keeps his cars and toys or whatever else he thinks is cool in there, and away from his sisters. Comfortable enough for extended drives and even has a cup holder for a drink. This car seat is a forward facing only seat and is for children over 20 pounds. The American Academy of Pediatrics now advises parents to keep toddlers in rear-facing car seats until age two, or until they exceed the height or weight limit for the car seat. However many parents currently choose to flip their child to forward-facing around his or her first birthday. For children between age 1 and 2, it is 5 times safer to ride facing the back of the car. What ever way you decide to do it, your child must be at least 20 pounds to use this seat. Another great thing about this seat is you can use the 5 point harness system for children up to 65 pounds or 49". The AAP and NHTSA also recommend that children should use the built in harness system for as long as possible, until they reach the maximum weight and height for their car seat. Lots of other car seats only keep them harnessed until about 40 pounds so I really appreciate the added safety in the Nautilus. When you are ready to use the car's shoulder and lap belt instead of the 5 point harness this seat transforms to a belted booster with a back and then a backless booster in a few easy steps. To use the booster with the back you just slip the car's shoulder belt through the shoulder belt guide and the lap belt behind the armrest in the booster's belt path which ensures they are in the correct position on your child. With the backless booster you keep the lap belt in the same position and the shoulder belt accross your childs shoulder. You can also use the belt positioning clip to keep the shoulder belt in place. Also this car seat Expires 10 years after the manufacture date while others frequently expire in only 6 -9 years. This is another important point since many children should still be using a booster until they are 8-12 years old. I am extremely impressed with this booster seat and I look forward to using this seat for many years to come.
I have bought 4 of these. One recently for my mom in her car. A few months ago we were hit by a drunk driver on I 10 in Beaumont, TX who was going about 100 miles an hour...he hit my daughter's side of our truck. We had gone up on to a concrete barrier and slid down it about for about 200 ft...truck completely totaled. My daughter didn't know what happened but wasn't shaken. The car seat had kept her head from whipping side to side. Even the fire fighters who showed up on scene commented on how awesome this seat was. So because it was in a wreck I had to buy a new one and we have one in our other vehicle too. It saved my daughter's life on top of someone up above looking out for my whole family in the truck that evening.
I have 2 granddaughters that are 3 almost 4 yrs old and I have 2 grand babies coming within 2 months of each other so really needed a car seat that would grow with them I didn't want to have to get another car seat ever again, lol. I love Graco Nautilus 65 Harness Booster, Track it is the sturdiest car seat I have ever had it weights 22 lbs so is heavy. It's crash tested and has a steel-reinforced frame. Your child can be 20 lbs to 100 lbs and has a cup holder and 2 hiding spots that they can put there snacks or toys. I love, love, love adjustable straps no more taking it all apart to adjust the harness just hold down a button and do the adjusting so much easier to do for each child. The seat also comes with padding things so the straps won't irritate the child's skin. It's has 3-position recline but to tell you the truth doesn't move a lot but just a small amount. The upholstery is very soft and seems it will be strong and last a long time. I love the built-in 5-point harness system snuggles them right in and there safe as can be. There so much more safer then the ones I had for my kids. Please go and buy one for your child and keep them safe.
Graco-Nautilus 3-in-1 Multi-Use Car Seat is greatly comfortable chair. Before purchasing this product, I did research and found this product had thousands customers who favored it. I bought two the Car Seats. Strongly recommend this product to everyone!
When my husband was rear-ended (no one else was in the car), we had to search for new car seats. After MONTHS of extensive research on car seats, I decided on this one because of the high rated and reviews. I agree with others who have said their child looks uncomfortable in the car seat. My 2 and a half year old has never complained though so I guess it's no big deal. This car seat is bulky and heavy. It took a long time to install correctly. Of course it was worth the time to know that she will be safe, it was just annoying. My biggest complaint is the buckle in between her legs. It's too far back on the seat and she sits on it when I put her in the seat. This makes it hard to find to buckle her in. Had I known, I would not have gotten this car seat. I'd take it back, but I'm not sure I still have the receipt and it's probably passed the 90 days.
