I bought this to carry for wildlife photography, when sitting is better not only for my back but for a low profile when photographing animals in the wild. I am hoping the fabric will relax just a bit with use, as getting the seat onto the supports was difficult the first time because my hand strength is not a great as it used to be. I chose this stool because of the rotation feature, and because the folded length is half that of regular tripod stools.
Love the product. I was actually using it while weeding last weekend and the only downside I can find is the lack of stability if it's on a slant and pretty hard out of the gate to get the seat on the base. Both will get better with time. Quality product
I bought five of these stools, one for for each of my family members, sight unseen solely of off Grand Trunk's website's recommendation. I am glad I did as now the kids don't fight over these well-built, durable, and lightweight stools. The swivel feature is an awesome addition. Once again Grand Trunk delivers a great product.
1st order unfortunately a leg snapped upon 1st use 😪 they immediately shipped out another & gave me a personal phone call to ensure I was one of only three customers that the stool broke on. Received the new one yesterday & it held up the 1st sit lol! Thank you for the great customer service! I will let you all know how it holds up after a year worth of use. Cheers!
In my line of work I've gone through countless camp stools. Grand Trunk's 360 Compass is the most durable and packable of the over several I've used. Even with extra weight strapped to me or my compatriots it holds up to all the challenges thrown at it. It definitely punches above its weight.
The stool itself is great! Unfortunately, I ordered it for my daughter-in-law for her birthday on Jan 7th and it was stuck in Little Rock ten minutes from her and kept saying in transit, but it never moved. For almost 2 weeks we waited then we were sent another that said it “attempted delivery”, and still not sure why. So almost 3 weeks later she finally recieved it!
I am simply in love with the Compass 360! It is so light and packable and there is no reason why one wouldn't bring it along everywhere. Climbing, bird watching, ice fishing, roasting marshmallows, putting on shoes, just chillin…… super durable and very sturdy! Five stars!
Have not had an opportunity to use the stool yet. Purchased two stools because we are aging, avid campers who love to hike. Benches are frequently spaced too far apart on the trails or located where we would rather not sit due to swarming insects, poison ivy, etc. Sometimes you just find a view you would like to linger over without having to sit in wet grass or on a hard rock. For those with arthritis, assembling the stool could be problematic as it requires quite a bit of strength, thus the 4 star rating.
Just got back from a backpacking trip and was really a great chair. Small, compact and light weight. The only challenge was the legs of the chair continuously sank into the ground and had to move it around to various locations or attempt to use rocks to stabilize. Outside of that its a great chair.
I bought this for my wife. I struggled for about 10 minutes to attach the seat to the legs, and there is no way in the world that anyone of average strength could do it easily. It seems to be well made, but that doesn't help if it is next to impossible to put together.
