This is the 1st water bath canner I purchased at the age of 42 years old. It was very easy to use and did the job correctly! However, I made the mistake of not heating the water to the desired temperature of processing. I processed the canned rhubarb longer than 15 minutes in the canner and had to place the jars in the refrigerator to seal properly! We all make mistakes.

I'm new to canning and was going to just try to use a pot I already have. Well I was talking to my grandma and she was explaining it more to me and mentioned she had a pot just for it and the rack (I never knew about the rack) so we decided I should just buy a pot. Well I saw this kit and figured I need all the stuff anyways.. I just used it for the first time and I'm extremely pleased with it! This pot is the same one my grandma had and she used it for decades before selling it because she can no longer can. Highly rd conned this!

for someone who wants to learn to can, this water bath canning set is a great place to start. All you need to add is a beginners book on canning and basic supplies to can with, IE: jars lids rings and product to can. It is a good price for a starter set and comes with things you wouldn't think about if you were buying separate. Just remember to wash EVERYTHING before first time use. Well worth the investment.

Product was exactly as advertised. My wife and I had never canned before and didn't know if we could do it right. When our jar lids started popping (meaning they were properly sealed), we were like little kids giving each other high five's. The kit included everything we needed to can our peppers. We will be canning peach salsa next. There are plenty of great recipes and directions on the Internet.

Purchased this to can peaches. Wasn't sure I would need the whole set, which includes a pair of tongs to pull the jars in and out of the hot water, a magnet to pull the lids out of hot water, a spatula to run around the outside of the jars after they are filled with the jam to get rid of any bubbles, a rack that holds the jars off the bottom of the pot and can be used to lift the jars in and out of the water bath, and a jar wrench which shouldn't be used to tighten the lids. Out of all the utensils that came with the pot, the wrench was the only thing I felt I didn't need. Worked perfectly at a reasonable price.

This is a nice quality canning kit with everything you need to get started except jars, lids, and rings. This canning kit is thoughtfully designed, carefully packaged, and an excellent value.

The only downside I have to this, is when I received this, the box looked horrible. It was basically ripped to shreds. My canner has a large dent at the bottom edge. It's still useable but it's irritating to pay so much for a product for it to be dented in. I kept it and I have been using it with no effects from the dent. However it's just irritating and unappealing.

The Graniteware open kettle canning set arrved on time as advertised. However, even when I inspected it, I failed to notice a large dent on the bottom edge. The enamel fell off the spot, and I know it'll be a goner in a short time. My fault entirely. The customer service staff person asked me if it was right, and I said yes. It's a nice set, and I got good use out of several of the pieces last night putting up beans in the pressure canner. If you buy from WalMart.com, just take a little longer to inspect the merchandise before walking away.

After having to wait for a week, I got the pot, took it out of the box and placed it on my wood table. I nneded to move it over so i gently pushed to another spot on my table. There are several extremely sharp spots on the pot, now I have scratches on my table. Thankfully, I did not put it on the top of my electric stove

When I received my pot it had 2 huge dings taken out of the paint. In fact it looks like it was dropped repeatedly with the dints and the the missing paint. I am concerned how this will effect rusting or if it will eventually turn into a hole.
