A sturdy product that protects your precious jars of preserves in the canner keeping them off the boiling hot heat of the bottom of the pot. I don't use the canner to lift bottles in or out of the pot - only to position them in the canner to protect them from breaking. Dry the rack as soon as you remove it from the canner so the metal won't rust. A good rack is a canning must!

I gave it a 5 on looks, alone. I have not had a chance to use it, just yet. The original basket (purchased with the canner) and one other, both, rusted at weld joints. During the actual canning process, this id not a real issue but, during the sterilization process of the jars, I don't think it is a very good thing. Time will tell if this one fares any better.

The rack fit my old canner perfectly. My old rack had started to rust and I was excited to find this one as I didn't want to invest in a complete new canner.

Item was fine, but returned, did not fit my canning pan

Pretty flimsy; wasn't as big I had hoped; the description doesn't elaborate how the item is measured.

It says it fits a 21.5 qt canner, I have a 22QT and it doesn't fit at all. I had to have my bf cut off the jar guard rail in order to make it work, since I had already cut and prepped the food. and even then using the bottom part, it rusted everywhere after 1 15min water bath and 10 min sterilizing.

It is horribly rusted after it's first use!!
