Near perfect pans (thus far). I know the tag-line is complete non-stick, but let's be serious. I don't know that mankind has invented a complete non-stick, inexpensive surface. That being said, yes these pan(s) are a more than reasonable facsimile. One can get away with far less butter /oil. However, if one wants the absolute closest thing to science fiction level non-stick, when you first receive the pan(s), heat them on medium heat for about a minute, then carefully coat the inside with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Wipe out any excess oil with a lint free cloth /towel. I've done this with every pan I've ever owned. These pans seem to really take to this seasoning method. I even went ahead and washed these in a dishwasher and they came out fine, though the inside surface looked dry again, just like when I received them. Another quick season and they are back to looking glossy and ready for the next meal prep. Minimal butter /oil, and even eggs slide right off. The non-stick is good enough that my wife is convinced I can cook eggs finally! (Another one fooled). If you keep your expectations in the real world, these seem like really good pans. I've not had them long enough to say life-long pans yet. But so far, all seems well.
The non-stick quality is wonderful. You would have to be trying really hard to burn something in these pans. Very even cooking.
I am amazed with these pans, I have forgotten what I had cooking, came back and it did not stick to the bottom of the pan. I've had a loss in the family recently and this is wonderful that nothing sticks or burns. I would purchase again as I've tried the fry pans and now the pots with lids and am very happy with my purchase.
I was fortunate enough to find a large granite stone skillet on clearance in the store and was so satisfied with its performance that I had to order this set. I'm so glad I did. It is truly wonderful. Easy care - for REAL. The nonstick is really nonstick! I have been using daily for past 4 months, with wooden/silicone and metal utensils and not a scratch or blemish on any of the pans at all. I do hand wash - mainly because I'm old and that's just the way I roll. They are also oven useable up to I believe 500 degrees, but I have only used in oven up to 450 degrees - no problem there either. Another is they are lightweight. Very sturdy but not heavy. Having arthritic hands and fibromyalgia, that is very important to me. So, I do highly recommend this purchase and use in good health and all southern home cooking! :0)
I was shopping a local store and found a Granitestone frying pan, because of the non-stick claim. It was a bit pricy so I was hoping for the best. I can't even describe the joy I felt when, per the material included, I cracked an egg into the dry pan. No butter, no cooking spray. Just egg and pan. And that egg fried even, was so slippery on the surface that I actually had a hard time trying to keep the spatula from just sliding it around on the pan. It advertised the use of metal utensils. I have had this fry pan for about 6 months, using metal spatulas, forks, whisks, etc. It's still perfect. I've been trying to find more pieces, but just could not locate them anywhere but Amazon, and holy cow were they expensive. Then, to my utter amazement, Ginny's has decided to carry a whole line. Guess what I'll be getting myself as a pretty gift?
So far, the "No Stick" aspect of these pans and pot is true. They're very light weight but the lid handles DO get hot! I just use the lids from my other pans (that do not get hot) instead. For the price, they're nice, but get some pot holders to go with them!
This is an excellent value for a basic, stove-top cookware set. I've even used the fry pan in the oven (because I can). So far, all their claims about the durability of the non-stick finish have rung true. It makes me want to get their huge EVERYTHING set. The only con I have is all their pots and pans that have handles have nice heavy riveted handles that stay pretty cool. But the lids' handles are nice, shiny, riveted, NARROW, metal strips, that are about half the distance from the glass they should be to ensure solid purchase with a potholder-protected hand. (They get hot enough to give your palm a nice mirror-image brand of the Granite Stone logo. Use a potholder!)
Bought these for my mom. I had looked at so many different products that when I decided on this set, I failed to note they are cheap ALUMINUM, therefore less expensive than the stainless steel ones I had looked at and wanted. My mom was disappointed also, and doesn't use them much.
Purchased these a little over 8 months ago and very disappointed. These pans are great for cooking when the non-stick coating does not come off and into your home made sauce. A chunk of coating came off as I was stirring my caramel sauce with a wooden spatula. These should not have this problem, I don't even use metal utensils on my pans. Both small sauce pans can no longer be used as I do not want particles in my food.
Two items were ordered, but only one was delivered. The packing slip states there were two items enclosed in the box, but there was only one. You should be able to check the weight of the shipment to verify this. For the past few years, I have mainly been using Amazon to purchase stuff online, I thought I would try Walmart.com to see if I can get faster and less expensive shipments, so this is the one of the first times I've tried it. However, I have already had two issues: 1) I was notified that items were delivered, but I only received them later, and 2) this order, where only part of the order was received. How fast and problem free this issue is resolved will determine if I use Walmart.com going forward.
