Great Northern Popcorn 6.5-Quart Stainless-Steel Stovetop Popcorn Maker

I had used the electric poppers in the past but they all eventually lost efficiency so I gave this item a try. The lid attaches securely and the handle crank is easy to turn. To use it you put it over a medium heat, add oil/salt/etc. and the kernels and slowly turn the handle crank until the popping stops. Normally it takes about five minutes or so from start to finish. It does a pretty complete job of popping the kernels. Clean-up is just wiping the surface with a cloth.

It's made of stainless steel, replacing my aluminum popper. The part that stirs the kernels is improved over the blade of the old popper. The latches are more secure. Overall, a much improved popper.

Can't believe the reasonable price for a STAINLESS STEEL popcorn popper. The ones I had before were aluminum. Absolutely no comparison between the two. This one is built for a lifetime of use !

I don't have to shake pot, just turn gear driven handle to stir kernels inside pot. the bottom is thick clad and I got almost all corn popped without burning. I will add salt to the next batch while popping to see if I can get that flavor while it pops. This is the SS popper and it worked great the times I used it on my gas stove

Performs well! The price was outstanding and it really does make theater level popcorn (with the appropriate oil and Flavorcol). I appreciate the metal gears (as opposed to the nylon) and it cleans easily (just wipe with a paper towel). If you enjoy theater-like popcorn, I suggest you give it a try. It's easy to use, the lid fits well, and the construction is sturdy.

Beautiful pot and a great price. Pop great popcorn. Lid design is not ideal, (clamps are hard to close) also need a small area to add butter or flavoring. 4.5 rating!

The top seemed a little dirty when it arrived. It think it was just smudged but washed it really well multiple times. Works great.

I love this stainless steel popcorn popper because it is stainless steel, but the lid is aggravating, hard to snap it down in place .

The unit is functional but not up to others standards. %231 The lid and snaps that hold the lid are weak and not to rigid enough to hold the lid shut. %232 The wood handle is right up to the edger of the pot and if handled up close you will burn you hand. %233 The agitator inside is thin and floppy when others reviewed they are more rigid. %234 The price is not competitive for the quality overall. Where to begin? First of all, I was never successful in getting the lid to sit on the base properly. There is a gizmo sticking out from the lid which is to be inserted into a hole in the base. Sounds simple enough, right? But this action caused the lid to be sitting lower by the hole and consequently not tight anywhere else. Thus, the steam was getting released through the unmatched areas of the lid, not through the steam vents. While the paddle itself was easy enough to turn, the whole contraption was too heavy to hold in one hand while attempting to control/open the sides. This resulted in popcorn going everywhere while attempting to empty the base into a bowl. Unfortunately, I had thrown away all my paper work. I will be sending this to ARC and getting my beat up (but still working better than this!) old popper out of the trash.
