Great Spirits Baking Co. Guinness Chocolate Stout Loaf Cake- 10 oz.

I love this cake! The foil wrap keeps it fresh, so you can have it on hand for future use. It has just the perfect amount of lemon and it's so moist. A trick I use is to turn the cake upside down for a few hours (or overnight) to allow the moisture to disperse through to the top of the cake. If I forget to do that, the very bottom is soaked with sweet goodness, which works too. (Kinda like the center of a good cinnamon roll). Yummy!

This is a bit smaller than I anticipated but it was very good. I love lemon flavored cakes and have tried a lot of them. This one was one of my favorites. The texture is soft and moist and close to that of a pudding cake. It only has a subtle Limoncello flavor so it doesn't taste overwhelmingly of alcohol like some liqueur cakes do. It's not too sweet and pairs well with tea ir coffee. I finished it in two sittings. The only downside is that it is a bit small for the price.

Certainly shipping it in a soft pack bag did not help. Of course nothing affected the taste - always delicious. And considering this vendor seems to be the only one daring to ship to home then, one can't complain too much. It is all collapsed at one end, in a crumpled heap. So that it appears that almost half of the cake was already eaten, but it is just all at one end. It was delivered at 2:59 and since it was soft pack was tossed onto the waiting delivery bench.

This cake had me hooked! Soft moist and lemonlicious. I am in love with lemon baked goods and this one is top notch. You got a winner right here.

It has the stout beer taste to it, but the chocolate settles and compliments it. It's not terrible. It's not that great, but I wouldn't mind it as an occasional treat. The box is sort of misleading as you would think it would be a decently sized cake.

The taste is fine if a bit strong. My issue was the cake was so moist it was tending to be closer to pudding in places. It was very gooey. It is likely due to the texture that the cake didnt fill the tray, only about 3/4 of the size.

Not impressed. The actual cake was much smaller than the box makes it appear. The taste was as if someone made a halfway decent pound cake, and then just poured a few shots of imitation Bailey's flavoring over it. I swear, if I had picked it up and squeezed it, i could almost have wrung it out like a wet sponge.

Omg! Absolutely disgusting! Was so excited to try this with the family. :(( As soon as you open the cardboard box you can smell the whiskey? I'm assuming because truly it smells like rotten raisins. Open the foil and the cake is delectable to the eyes. Such a moist cake with wonderful texture however the flavor was not there. The underwhelming flavor of chocolate couldn't exceed the intolerable amount of rotten raisins and rubbing alcohol taste. Such a shame that not only did we projectile vomit from the tiniest nibble of the appealing looking cake but also one of us had a nosebleed!! Very disappointing and do not recommend to anyone.
