this is my go-to milk product. it usually outlasts the best by date by a week. when I was young we wouldn't touch 1% for 2% because it was so watery. but now in my old age this 1% is what I prefer. has a great flavor and in my opinion not watery at all.
This 1% milk provided a mild, fresh dairy sweet taste! I like that it's 1% because of the reduced intake of saturated fat, while still maintaining high levels of nutrients like calcium, protein and vitamin d. Our family enjoyed this milk in various ways: eating cereal, added to our coffee, and also straight up as a morning beverage! We really enjoy it numerous ways! A must buy!
Great Value 1% Low-Fat Milk is always in our fridge and for good reason. It's smooth, fresh, and not too heavy—perfect for cereal, coffee, or just a quick glass between kid chaos. Tastes just as good as the pricier brands, but way easier on the budget. Honestly a no-brainer staple in our house.
I bought Walmart 1% Good Value Milk expecting… milk. What I received instead was a life-altering dairy experience. This milk is smoother than a jazz saxophone solo at 2AM. I poured a glass and suddenly understood taxes, world peace, and why cows always look so calm. Perfect in cereal. Incredible in coffee. Outstanding straight from the jug while standing in the kitchen at midnight questioning my life choices. The flavor? Immaculate. The freshness? Astronomical. The vibes? Unmatched. 5 stars.
I always check expiration dates on food products, especially milk. The expiration date on this milk was to expire within seven days which was sufficient enough time before it should go bad. WRONG! The first day the milk was fine. The second day it was completely sour and foul smelling. It took one day after opening it, for the milk to spoil, five days before the expiration date.
We unfortunately get the milk that doesn't last long. Probably left out too long when putting on shelves I don't know. But I will open a new milk and it will already smell and have a thick white substance at the top of the container. It's already gone rotten or will soon. This is not all the time but more frequently lately at the route 1 store.
I always buy this Great Value milk, but my last gallon I purchased had a horrible taste and smell. It tasted and smelled like plastic. Will not be purchasing any Great Value milk or even dairy products until this is taken care of. Not sure what the problem is, but I’m not risking getting sick from drinking this. I have been having trouble finding gallon size milk at my Walmart, so maybe there is an issue at their facility that needs taken care of. Expiration date is APR 21, so it is well before the expiration date. Starting to see other similar reviews like this so I’d steer clear of this product for a while!
I just wanted to let everyone know that if you don't drink milk real fast this isn't the milk for you. This is the 2nd gallon I bought in a row that spoils 4 days SHY of the best by date so if if can't even last a week it is no good to me. I can't drink a whole gallon of milk in a day or 2 and it seems that it must be old already before it is even sold. Bad deal I know it isn't my fridge or storage as this doesn't happen with milk bought at soopers or safeway.
I had to stop buying this and the Great Value skim milk because about half of the gallons I bought were sour for months. Even not expired, half the time the milk had a spoiled taste and smell that made it undrinkable. I'm not paying for a 50% chance of usable milk.
I placed my order on-line with a specific pick up time. TWICE the milk went bad (totally curdled and foul smelling) 7-10 days BEFORE the sell by date. I think they must have left it out of the frig too long. I learned my lesson and will never buy milk that way again. There has been no problem with the non-perishables though.
