SOOOO GOOD! I literally down a carton a day! And great value is the only one to do a 1%! PLEASE never stop making/selling this and please don’t change a thing!! It’s my staple.
Since I am diabetic, I eat a cup of cottage cheese every afternoon instead of dish of ice cream! I love it playing, but I also like it with applesauce or crushed pineapple. And as a bonus, I give my daughter-in-law all of my empty containers to use for leftovers, especially at the holidays!
I want to say this tastes great, but my review is based on the facts my dogs will eat it. I add it to their kibble to help with probiotics and it reduces regurgitation. My old dog is also more encouraged to eat when I put this cheese on her food. Overall a win.
I absolutely love cottage cheese and this brand is great. Affordable and not too expensive and I feel like it lasts for a very long time. Other cottage cheese's I have bought sometimes tend to go bad very quickly and get mold in them. I never have that problem with this brand. It always tastes great and lasts awhile.
Like all cottage cheese, the water will separate over time. The trick during storage is to store upside down. The water separates to collect at the top which is the bottom of the container. Then turn over when you open to use. You'll still have to stir to mix the water back in on later uses. This is typical with all cottage cheese unless you eat it up quickly. I usually take a week, or more, to go through a container this size. Taste is good, and has a nice chewy texture. Cottage cheese is a bit bland, so I add mandarin oranges, diced peaches, or red grapefruit (no sugar added, packed in water, not juice) to add some sweetness and differing texture to the combo. Makes for a good side dish, like to salad, sandwich, or other cold meal, or even as the main and only dish by itself (with toppings).
Note: i didnt say i love it. But the price, taste, texture beat the brand name cottage cheeses. My preference is for large curd, but thats almost impossible to get. So for the current time, this is my choice. And kudos to the grocery order pickers because my items are ALWAYS within date
For low fat cottage cheese this is actually pretty good. The texture is decent and not too watery, and the taste is better than I expected for a lower fat option. My wife likes it with pineapple and also adds it to salads, so it gets used pretty often in our house. It is not anything special, but for the price and what it is, it works and I would buy it again
I had bought this in a pinch to use in my lasagna, and I usually mix with Parmesan cheese and seasonings to spread on the noodles and I also had bought a smaller container of daisy cottage cheese, which I had used the last time I made lasagna so that I would have more of the ricotta like filling, but unfortunately, the store brand of cottage cheese was a little too runny and not as smooth and creamy as the daisy. It tasted fine. I mixed it with the daisy I mixed in all the stuff under only mix in so it tasted fun, but I did think that it could've been better so certainly I'll get it in a pinch again if I need to and it certainly worth the money cause it's definitely cheaper than the daisy, but I would say as far as quality goes it's not up to Daisy and it's not up to my standards. Thank you very much.
Great Value cottage cheese has become "cottage cheese SOUP." I'm sure they save money with the water content, but the cottage cheese is flavorless in all the liquid.
Terrible!!! Walmart had the recipe changed on their Good Value cottage cheese. Much more water. Sorry will not buy it again. 4% large curd has also been watered down. I have bought 1% small curd and my daughter has bought 4% large curd for years. Recently the 4% was change. My daughter bought it a second time thinking the water and different flavor was an error. Second purchase still bad. Several weeks later, my 1% was watered down. Both of us are switching brands. I can understand where Walmart wants to make a profit and has vender contracts, but very important that the Walmart tests the new product for quality versed price. One without the without the other is not good business.
