I have tasted this and it was good but I use it primarily for my dog. I mix a heaping tablespoon of pumpkin puree with her kibble twice daily. It contains vitamins, minerals and fiber that help her digestion, coat and skin. It is a very cost effective supplement.
this puree pumpkin is so yummy. and I even give my dog some of this with her food and it seems to really help her stay regular. but I'm not a doctor and I'd always ask that if you do try something like that you need to ask your dog's veterinarian first. anyway I like to make pumpkin bars with this and sometimes pumpkin pie it's just delicious and I love it it's a great price too
YUM! The larger (29oz) can is my favorite. It is delicious, fresh tasting and never disappoints! The price cannot be beat! This is a staple on my shopping list. I have also given it to family, friends and neighbors because you make so many great receips with it.
It is so well made and thick and creamy. I put it in smoothies and give it to the dogs along with other good things for them. I have to admit Pumpkin pie is not my fav. Sweet potato pie is. Oh yummm... During Oct I will buy the small pumpkins and bake them and then can the puree. Plus the seeds are gr8 as well. GV Pumpkin Puree is a winner no matter the time of the year or how you use it! My dogs love it when I add it to their assorted foods. It adds a wonderful taste to my smoothies as well. It has 3 grams of fiber and only 50 calories but it has a whooping 574 mgs of potassium. I do have to watch that number with Kidney disease. Dividing the 574 with the total 29 ounce can I can keep it in my Kidney friendly numbers. It's worth the math! When I have enough strength I make the dogs treats out of Pumpkin Puree and Whole Wheat flour and Unsweetened applesauce and sugar free yogurt. I will admit they are pretty dog gone tasty even for me giggles. Blessing to all...
I mix this puree to greek yogurt as a chilled treat for my dogs. Pumpkin is very healthy for them. Much prefer to give them treats that are healthful to the traditional biscuits and other products that have all forms of chemical, preservatives and colorings. Not all of my dogs like the mixture, but, the bowls are empty in the end. Like that the product is 100 percent pumpkin, no sugar added. It stays fresh for a long time in the refrigerator. The larger size is cost-saver.
Ordered to mix in my dog’s meals. Two cans arrived dented, was not immediately alarmed because they arrived in a bag and probably weren’t handled with the utmost care. Upon opening, they were indeed spoiled. I liked the large volume, would only repurchase in-store after personally inspecting the cans.
Walmart's canned pumpkin started out fantastic, with 100% vitamin A and not overcooked still keeping a reasonably bright orange color like the higher quality brands. I was happy buyer and consumer of it for well over 6 months eating a daily in my protein shakes. However, to my shock, all of a sudden maybe in the past month or 2 they no longer list the vitamin A content because they now overcook it and you can see it's very browned, with even browned burnt chunks near the top, which kills the vitamin A and probably a lot of other of its superfood qualities. This is very unnecessary and very unfortunate. So I'm going to stop eating it because I do it for the health benefits. If you're using it as a pie filling and you're going to bake it heavy anyways than you be happy with this product, yet if you consume it raw for nutrition forget about it, they killed it.
I have been getting the worst dented cans I have ever received the past several times I’ve ordered this pumpkin from Walmart/. They need to teach their shopper how to choose the products. Even food pantries don’t accept dented cans, but Walmart is selling them to customers. The past two orders the cans are extremely dented into the top seam of the can. Now I have to go to the store to return someone else’s mistake. Walmart takes it out on the customer.
The pumpkin is great. We buy a lot of this because we have 3 dogs. What I don't like is how your employees or the truckers treat the products. I asked for the opinion of others in NA and many agree. The products we are buying at the NA Wal-Mart are often damaged... especially the canned pumpkin for some reason.
I have purchased this item on two different occasions and both times the pumpkin was bad. I had also ordered the smaller cans and they were fine. Not sure if there was a bad batch that the big cans were no good but I will stick to the small cans from now on. Too late for photos
