Bread depends on what you are wanting. This bread could easily be rated as 3 stars by someone looking for high-end variables. It is a straight forward whole grain bread. No thrills. No special hoops it is jumping through. No surprises. It is just a high quality straight forward bread that is soft and perfect for just about any everyday use. I have always found it fresh without needing to overly stress its best by date. For just a simple basic whole grain bread, it is a very high quality that is very well priced.
with a deep earthy grain, a hint of sweet is delicately delivered, excellent French toast bread, perfect for a hardy sandwich, bread doesnt fall apart yet gives nicely to bite. and the price beat its competition by half the cost, thats a win for both them and I
worth the $2.58 a loaf these breads from Walmart. Pretty fresh , most of the time. and They have all the good breads with large slices for a great price. Try them. The older you are the more you will know what I mean about the different types of bread. Rye, sourdough and all the types of breads us older folks were brought up with. Bakery type breads. I like the breads and the price of these breads. Make wonderful toast for your coffee in the morning too.
This is my fave store bought, whole grain bread. The multi grain is also excellent. I bake bread normally but occasionally I buy a loaf of this or multi grain and toss in the freezer for times when I'm just not up to baking. Both freeze very well and are very fresh after thawing.
I could easily taste the wheat in the WalmartGreat Value Brand ,WholeWheat bread-with the subtle sweet taste of the honey. Texture is deliciously homemade and yet crunchy and airy with a very slight hint of moisture especially when toasted. I enjoy every bite with my morning breakfast of eggs, sausage, strawberry preserves and coffee. Walmart you’re on a roll, no pun intended. Hope to taste the same ingredients in your GV English Muffins soon. Yum-Yum My best choice in the Fredericksburg area, including popular leading brands. Try ‘em’ and you’ll see. Thank you Walmart.
Bread taste good if you take off the crust edges. That’s the only thing about it is the hardness of the edges crust. I’ve bought it several times thinking it was just the one load that was hard but all the loaves I’ve bought have been hard on the crust. Wish the crust was soft so it would be more chewable for sandwiches
We've had no issue with this bread until the last several loaves. Either under baked (almost soggy) or over baked (burnt crust). Unsure if it's a change in recipe or issues with ovens.
Ordered on the 12th and best by date of the 14th. Im not a restaurant with an expectation to eat a whole loaf in two days. I ordered these for delivery, walmart shoppers, please get me newer products instead of just trying to clear your shelves of ild products.
Purchased bread on 9/18 …EXPIRATION is 9/19. I’m not eating entire loaf in a day. I don’t want to freeze bread either…that’s not what I am paying for. Do better please.
Something very nasty has happened to this bread over the last few years, it is now a inedible burnt cardboard with traces of dishsoap tasting nightmare. I threw it away AVOID AVOID AVOID as the old story read.
