This Cottage Cheese is in my opinion the best cottage cheese that I have eaten. And I have tried a lot of them and this is the best.I eat a lot of cottage cheese. I will eat 5 of the24 oz size in 7 to 9 days. It has the best taste the best consistency and the mixture is what I like the best.
If you are ever looking to save at the grocery store, this is one way you can. This cottage cheese is just as good as the name brands without the price. Do check the dates before purchasing. It is a great source of calcium, very creamy and good clean ingredients. I eat this just as is, on salads, with fresh, frozen fruit and canned fruit. It is perfect for a quick breakfast as well as a quick protein snack. I have also added this to burritos as a boost when other cheeses are not available in my refrigerator. I highly recommend this product. I buy it at least once or twice a month.
I always buy great value brand 4% small curd cottage cheese. You never have to worry about freshness. I take it another step further. I add canned fruit to it, e.g. pineapple chunks, oranges, etc. This is not only delicious but it is great if you are watching your weight.
Some people are not cottage cheese fans but I am a Great Value brand cottage cheese fan. I have recommended to friends who do not like cottage cheese, I have been told that this one taste better. Not all cottage cheese is created equal! this one is the only one for me!
I usually purchase cottage cheese from Sams and love it, so I thought I would give the great value a try. It has a really good taste, the curds were not as small as I would prefer, but over all it was a good purchase. I will purchase this brand again.
Ever since WM ‘large curd' vanished i had stopped buying cottage cheese altogether. I was craving it and potato chips like crazy so i relented and got this version when another brand was out of stock . It is very similar in bit sizes, not super tiny at all!! I wish i had known this!! Great taste, better than the 2%.
My wife's mother likes this cottage cheese, and it appears to have good quality - but the cottage cheese/grapefruit diet of the 1970s was proven to make weight gain happen. My wife and I don't eat it (we eat the 2% milkfat varieties), but her mother swears by it… she was born in 1945, so that should explain things… However, for all of you people out there who like cottage cheese, this is a viable alternative to the more expensive varieties - and it's in a big container, for good value. Do the 1970s thing by adding fruit, like pineapple. Good yum!
This cottage cheese is one I like. The texture is OK although the carton I received was rather runny. I usually mix cottage cheese with fruit, mostly frozen cherries. I am not a fan of cottage cheese but, my PCP told me to start eating it due to one of my *complaints*. I've tasted quite a few so far and Great Value 4% is one of my top 5.
It's way too slimy. The curds are nice though. I found a solution by pouring a little milk in the whole container then stirring and then straining all that slimy gunk out of it in a colander. I can't figure out why all these cottage cheese brands are putting that slime in. It's an additive to make it smooth but it makes it vile and nasty. Breakstone ruined theirs also. The only good one now is “Good” cottage cheese but it's expensive.
So I normally love this GV cottage cheese and normally buy 3-4 weekly for snacking and meal prep and have for years now. Lately though, it's been very inconsistent. I may get one great tasting container and then the next several taste so strong and bitter and submerged underneath a pool of milk whey. None of them have been expired, just inconsistent. I'm not sure if the inconsistencies are between manufacturing facilities or if they are changing the recipe. I'll be trying some more in the near future and hope they are more like what I've been enjoying for years.
