We really like the Great Value 4% Milkfat Small Curd Cottage Cheese. Sometimes I put a little on my dogs food if they are being picky. They love Great Value but will not eat another store brand. I find that a little funny. But I like the flavor of the GV Cottage Cheese better than the other store brand as well. Also great price for the 48 oz. packaging.
I love to have cottage cheese on hand in the fridge because it is so versatile, from a quick meal, to being a healthier base for dips and using it in baked dishes instead of ricotta. The fact that I can get a family sized container of it at this price point makes it budget friendly, and it is SO fresh and creamy that we go through it before it can get close to the use by date. Can't recommend highly enough.
The price for this is absolutely right on point as it's just as good (if not better) as the name brand. The quality and taste is very similar to the brand name and it's worth trying if you're looking to saving money! I would recommend buying this if you enjoy eating cottage cheese!!!
This cottage cheese is up to the same quality as members mark cottage cheese. no tartness and creamier that other brands. I DON'T BUY ANYTHING BUT THIS BRAND NOW. BTW it has a very long keeping time when opened. I increase that time by turning the carton upside down before putting it in the fridge. I heard a long time ago that that worked..where I don't remember..but it works to keep it fresh longer
I much prefer the flavor and texture of this cottage over any of the more expensive brands I've tried. It is creamy and smooth and the curds are not thick or dry like some and only mildly sour. I would highly recommend it.
Not bad at all for the price, this gets the job done if you eat a lot of cottage cheese. The flavor is mild with a slight natural sweetness, and the small curds are consistent, but it could be creamier and have more of that smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. It works well in salads, alongside fruit, or even tucked into burritos when you want to add protein without much effort. Solid value overall, just don't expect a rich, indulgent finish.
when first opened, used as part of a dinner. I usually taste everything before I serve things or use in cooking or baking. This particular container tasted spoiled from the start. plan to request a credit or refund couldn't use. I even had others test taste the cottage cheese and EVERYONE said the same. This had been a problem in the past. Texture seems as if it was frozen at one time, little structure to the curds.
usually the cottage cheese is amazing but the last one bought was dry and clumpy ruining the over all quality. did order again incase it was a one off.
It was on recall, and I ended up getting a container of it, and I ended up getting E. Coli, and very, very, very sick Walmart. Ain't doing anything about it.I've called the 1800 number. i've even called the company that recalled it and they're not doing anything.I have been fighting this bacterial infection for 3 and half weeks. i threw away the container and they want it back. its at a landfill now. e coli is a very serious infection. it could cause death and kidney failure.
It has a sour taste. The Great Value brand is always great! But this particular product tastes like it's gone bad. I bought it on 2 separate occasions, thinking maybe the first had just gone bad. Nope. That's just how it tastes I guess. I will still use it as an ingredient in a dish, but not to just eat by itself.
