this ham tastes good and is the texture that ham is suppose to be. I really grow tired of the meats that have those addictive that ruin the taste. we are suppose to be a first world country but we are the only ones who have factories replacing goodness with chemicals and then charging extra for less. This ham is very well priced and tastes good too.
My son is autistic and is a very picky about his food and food textures. The 3rd time I bought the great value brand of ham, my son had ask me if he can have some after seeing it a few times., I said sure, and was shocked that he asked, like I said he is a picky eater and he doesnt like change. After he tried this ham, his face lit up. He told me mommy it is good! All I can do is smile. The value brand is very flavorful, and not dry at all. Now he eats the black forest, turkey, and chicken one.
I have had this in a sandwich with a slice of swiss cheese for breakfast every week day morning for the past 18 years. I was usually running late in the morning so I would eat this on my way to work. It's delicious plus I was able to get to work on time. I am retired now but still usually eat this for breakfast.
We normally buy the Great Value Smoked Ham, Chicken %26 Turkey. But, they were out of stock on 2 out of 3 items. So this was my last-minute alternative..The other was only half of what's in these 1 lb sandwich meats.. All I do is take my pairing knife %26 cut down the middle. In my house, we go through lunch meat fast. Thnx Walmart 💯for always having alternatives. BTW, I wanted to give a shout-out to Sparky. It makes shopping online easier than before... Not sure what the appropriate pronouns to use..?? So Sparky does all the hard work for me..🫠💋😉♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️
I love this product in place of bacon. I know! Cardinal sin! But I use it in everything. Eggs benny, bacon substitute, sammich, mac n cheese, snacks, loaded potatoes, gosh... everything for some flavor and protien. Woeks great for a single person in place of a whole ham. No waste! If frozen and thawd in the fridge it does create a bit of liquid, but nothing to change my mind from using it. Great in chef salads, potatoe salads and maccaroni salads too.
i'm not a big ham fan, but the great value turkey the last several months just doesn't last more than a few days before it turns rancid and starts smelling bad so i've swapped to the ham. it's quiet salty (which is why i don't normally buy ham) but at least it doens't go bad well before the expiration date.
Some store brand ham is so salty and watery. This is not. It is a far better price than from the deli. i cut the sliced in half and dry them and layer 6 of them, place them in a baggie, freeze them and then put 2 rows of 6 in one baggie....this way they don't stick together. i can take out enough for 2 sandwiches....3 pieces per... so 2 pounds lasts a long time for me.
I was very disappointed actually and I usually never am I like this lunch meat and I like all the varieties but this particular package and the other one I also bought head gristle in it and I find that very just satisfying I don't enjoy that at all and I did not enjoy that particular two packages of lunch meat they were off turning to me and I did not enjoy them at all generally I do and I buy them quite often wonderful product but these two packages just were not up to par.
Too much fat and gristly pieces in the slices, in the last 6 months or so, I buy this regularly, its a staple for me. I have noticed quality going down as price went up over the last 5 years. It's still cheaper than other brands for the same weight, but if quality doesn't improve I will be looking into a replacement.
My package was ripped open when I had it delivered … I didn't notice at first but as I was about to take a bite my stuffy nose picked up a foul Oder and thankfully I didn't end up eating any of it… the top half of the slices were a paler color than the rest of it so I assume it had spoiled due to being open for who knows how long…
