WalMart bean and cheese burritos

Meg April 16, 2026

I was so pleasantly surprised I happen to love reds organic burritos, but I thought let me give these a try as a back up… have them in your freezer at all times they are worthy of the space they take up!!!!! add a little sour cream or shredded cheese, salsa, and you are in!!! I will always have them in my freezer now

No nonsense, all burrito.

anonymous June 20, 2026

Every freezer should have a few products that exist purely to save the day. These burritos are one of them. They're simple: beans, cheese, tortilla. No exotic ingredients. No fancy marketing. No celebrity chef claiming to have discovered a revolutionary new way to put beans inside bread. Just a straightforward burrito that knows exactly what it's supposed to be. The beans are flavorful, the cheese adds a nice creamy texture, and the tortilla heats up surprisingly well. They're filling, convenient, and perfect for those moments when you're hungry enough to eat an entire dining room table but don't feel like cooking. What I appreciate most is the consistency. The first burrito tastes like the second burrito, which tastes like the third burrito. In an uncertain world, there's comfort in knowing exactly what awaits inside that wrapper. I've eaten these for lunch, dinner, late-night snacks, and on at least one occasion when I opened the freezer looking for ice cream and somehow left with a burrito instead. I regret nothing. They're not trying to be authentic restaurant food. They're trying to be a quick, satisfying meal that lives in your freezer until called upon. Mission accomplished. Five stars. Like a reliable old pickup truck, they may not be flashy, but they're always there when you need them.

Great Value Bean %26 Cheese Burritos, 32 Ounces.

Peter May 6, 2026

The price and prep work for Great Value Bean %26 Cheese Burritos, 32 Ounces, 8 Count (Frozen). is really easy. Much as they tout (they being those invisible agitators that are always making new rules) microwaving this item for a quick meal...just don't. Use your stove to cook the burritos, and they taste so much better than those from the microwave. I cut a burrito in half and mix it with other items to diversify and create a decent meal. (other items being a salad, some southwest beans dorritos etc). You cannot beat the price. Happy eatin' man!

Shell substandard, smaller than expected.

Susan June 11, 2026

These are a good price but I found the shell dry and the size smaller than El Monterrey brand. I did not continue to buy these because the shell was not up to what I like. I wish they would make these in the chimichanga shells and make sure they are not so dry. The size was substandard too. Great price and convenience though Love Great Value!

Prefer these to the major name brand

EH April 29, 2026

These burritos are terrific. Unlike other name brands, the tortilla is not hard and chewy - it's soft, but doesn't get soggy. It contains a good amount of filling, more than others, which is not hot spicy, but has a great flavor, and is a combination of mashed beans %26 cheese with whole beans and bean pieces mixed in, unlike name brand which is a totally liquid mush filling. People complain about the amount of tortilla being a lot, but that's the only way to contain the filling so it doesn't explode while heating. A note about heating - it's a trial and error exercise just like any other microwaveable frozen item. Takes a while to figure out how to heat it perfectly in your particular microwave, no matter what the wattage, regardless of the pkg directions. For me - 1100 watts, I put it frozen in a folded in half select a size paper towel on a paper plate, SEAM SIDE UP, zap for 42 sec on high, turn it over, then 42 sec on high, then leave in micro for 2 min. PERFECT EVERY TIME. Only reason for 4 stars is that it's a highly processed food item, which is not really healthy for you, but for a quick snack or a light dinner with some salad, it's great. Also - obviously this is not an authentic Mexican burrito like you'd get at a restaurant, but so what? Definitely worth a try.

Not as good as name brand

Lori December 30, 2025

Our store was out of stock of the El Monterey brand, so we opted for these as a substitution. We didn't like them as much and will not buy again. The beans inside the tortilla are dry and I didn't notice any cheese. The name brand's beans are creamy and cheesy...so good! I also didn't like the added calories and sodium in these compared to name brand.

Crumpled

monica November 20, 2025

The burritos looked crumpled when I removed them from the bag. I cooked them thinking they would be ok and just looked weird. I got food poisoning quickly after eating them. I think they may have been thawed and refrozen sometime in the transport or storing. I will never buy this brand again.

there seem to be a weird piece of plastic in my fo

Denise December 28, 2025

I got down to the last burrito in the package and while I was munching the last few bites after eating one already I got something in my mouth that tasted like burnt plastic that caused me to vomit I don't know what that was but it was freaking gross

FAIL

randy January 28, 2026

1st - the items were NOT individually wrapped - they came out of the packaging in 2 glumps. 2nd - Label and description both clearly state "cheese". Where? Maybe this means that a cow walked past the factory at some point? 3rd - The taste ... rather like trying to consume a pizza box. They just don't have a flavor that makes you anticipate consuming them. Perhaps with enough hot sauce? 4th ... I purchase a lot of Great Value products, but this item? Never Again. I think my only option at this point is to put them in a pan and smother with actual CHEESE, enchilada sauce and bake em ... maybe then they will be palatable.
