As for complaints this is too salty, this has 330 mg sodium per packet versus 340 mg for same variety of Quaker Oats, so the two are equally salty (you can't taste the 10 mg difference). Per their nutrition info, this product is the same as the Quaker Oats variety. Have tried both brands. Almost seems both are from the same mill considering same taste and nutrition. All grits are bland, so butter flavoring helps, plus I add bacon bits. These are 2/3 the price of Quaker Oats, and taste the same. Alas, Walmart is poor on keeping this in stock, so I'm stuck paying more for Quaker instant butter grits.

Grits are like Couscous, they act like a filler and take on the flavor of whatever they're cooked with. For breakfast I open 2 packets in a microwave bowl, add raisins and a spoonful of peanut butter. after adding water I microwave on hi for 3.5 minutes. Pull it out and stir for 30 seconds. It's important to keep an eye on it in the microwave because if you add a little too much water or use too small a bowl it could overflow! As a meal I thaw out a hamburger patty and break it up in a bowl, add 2 packets of grits, a handful of frozen veggies, some shredded cheese and a little salt and pepper to taste. After adding water I microwave it on hi for 3.5 minutes and stir for 30 seconds. Again it's important to keep an eye on it in the microwave so it doesn't overflow. If it does start to overflow, stir it 20-25 times and finish cooking it. I love this stuff!

I love the taste of Great Value Butter Instant Grits. I tried all the other available flavors, but this is just personally my favorite. If I had to complain about anything - it would just be the serving size. Of course, proclaiming myself as a person that looooves to eat - I have to eat 2-3 packets to fill up my bowl and my tummy. Totally worth it tho, in value and price! Just try them.

great taste

I don't really care for butter flavor instant grits. I prefer to add coconut oil. I thought I'd give these a try because I have never ever been able to find the regular Great Value Instant Grits at the Walmart in my area. These have a salty taste to me that is a bit too much. I hope they stock the regular, soon.

I made with milk for my breakfast or jump my lunch. But too much salt. I must pour Vanilla cream and sugar to get a great taste. Try my French recipe!

where is rest of my order (butter flavored instant grits)? Great Value brand.

This is 1st time I've bought a Great Value food product that I can complain about. These grits are horrible. Not sure what made them taste like cardboard.
