More often than not, the Cheez its that I had been buying were stale. Sure, the sell by date was always showing many months remaining, but they just weren't fresh. Plus they were just getting too expensive. I decided to try Walmarts brand and I was extremely happy with my decision. Less expensive AND fresh!
Hey, so these are as good as the name-brand ones. They cost less. That's good. You can't be spending all your money on crackers, Mary. They don't taste the SAME as the brand ones. They're a lighter, crispier cracker with an airy crunch and they're saltier and less greasy than Cheez-its.
Our whole family agrees that we prefer the Great Value Brand Cheddar Cheese Crackers over the Cheez-It brand! The Great Value Brand has more of a 100% real cheese flavor, they have the perfect crunch and the perfect amount of salt. They smell so good when you open the box. They are great for school snacks and a quick snack on the go! Love these!
I bought these for a cheaper alternative to add to my trail mix. They don't taste like the name brand, BUT they taste just like Goldfish crackers. Since I happen to like those, this is a great option for me. Defintely great for the price.
I had high hopes for this version after having the white cheddar version but I was wrong. It has a salty burnt taste or the box I purchased did. But going back to the white cheddar version and waiting for Great Value to add some additional cheese options.
While these crackers are pretty much identical to name brand in their ingredients, the taste leaves much to be desired. They feel equally as greasy, but the flavor is all wrong. The cheese note is too sharp, which is only made worse by the fact that the cracker itself is so incredibly salty. I quite like the White Cheddar version of these Great Value crackers, but when it comes to the classic orange cheese, I'll stick to buying the name brand. These are so salty that I can't eat more than a handful without going into salt overload and having to quit, which I guess is fine if you're trying to watch your calories.
These were WAAAAY too salty for me. I bought these because my grandson loves Cheez It's and I thought I'd just get him the store brand. Never again. I tried them and the texture is nice, but the salt level is way overdone! Think of taking a bowl full of normal Cheez It's and then shaking a salt shaker over them...for about 30 seconds. I will not waste my money on these again.
These felt soggy biting into compared to the name brand and the taste was just not good. I don't usually throw something away but I couldn't force myself to eat these. Even the animals wouldn't go near them. I usually don't notice much of a difference with store brand but these are a big no from me.
I only switched to GV because every other brand now uses soybean oil, which I am very allergic to. I read the ingredients on these crackers before ordering, but didn't think to check the box before eating them. Now I'm dealing with an episode of allergic esophagitis. Very, very disappointed! There are literally no store-bought crackers or breads that I can eat as of 2026 :(
These were absolutely disgusting. They didn't taste like cheese (or anything close to the original) but instead had a weird, off-putting (almost bitter) taste to them. I could not believe that Walmart would put their store imprint on something so gross. These were so gross that I bit the bullet and am buying the name brand because it's not worth throwing my money away on this. If you fed this to an animal, it could be construed as cruelty.
