Great Value Country Sausage Gravy, 15 oz Can

I didn't eat much sausage gravy growing up so it's nice to have easy access to it now as an adult. This sausage gravy is really delicious and takes breakfast to a new level. Tasty and smooth with a bit of spice, this stuff is good southern loving in a can.

I have purchased both this Great Value version and several significantly more expensive name brands over the years, and I can honestly say that I find myself preferring this one every single time. It contains a surprisingly generous amount of sausage compared to the much pricier options, which often feel like they are mostly gravy with very little meat. The savory flavor profile here is much richer and more well-balanced, providing a satisfying, authentic taste that doesn't feel overly salty or artificial. It is truly a fantastic value for the price point and makes for a perfect, quick, and comforting breakfast when paired with a few warm, oven-baked, flaky biscuits. I am thoroughly impressed by the consistency and the texture of the gravy itself, and I have officially decided to make this a permanent pantry staple in my household. I will definitely be stocking up and buying several more cans on my next grocery trip.

This is a good sausage gravy. Period. And the price is soooo good that I always but a few at a time to keep some on hand for those easy biscuit %26 gravy mornings. :)

I usually like Great Value brands as well as name brands, but not this one. it looks and tasts like it's made with corn starch instead of flour. i could be wrong, but it just doesn't taste like the southern sossage gravy I'm used to.

Did love this stuff. They just changed the recipe. it's no longer a thick white gravy like it should be and doesn't taste nearly as good. I guess I'll have to switch to named brand for this. Shame it was better before.

I'm so disappointed. why was this wonderful sausage gravy changed?? it used to be thick, creamy and white and was absolutely delicious. it was better than any expensive big-name brand. it rivaled homemade. However, I just opened a can, and it was thin, gray and watery. I added some butter and cream to it, and it was edible, but the overall quality is not at all what it was just a couple of months ago. it still has a generous amount of sausage, which is great, but that's all it has going for it, now. Thin, gray, and watery gravy isn't appealing, plus, the flavor isn't even the same. I don't know why it was changed, but it's a huge fail.

Read reviews, they were good. I have no idea why. This without a doubt is awful. If you don't make your own sausage gravy, or have never had homemade gravy this may be the problem. It looks like it was made with water, very little sausage, heavy on the pepper. The ONLY thing good about this, you don't have to make it. It vaguely tasted like anything but black pepper. It reminds me of sausage gravy you would find in one of those "free breakfast buffet " hotels" AWFUL, HORRENDOUS, WATERY, FLAVORLESS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This used to be a very good product with excellent value compared to the competition. Thick white gravy with bits of sausage and a taste from my childhood. But they changed the recipe. Now it is a thin, translucent gel. with some ground sausage. The taste is oily, with a chemical aftertaste. This is a completely different product in the same can. Quite deceptive and disappointing. I filed for a refund.

This is NOT country gravy! If I were to put in a category, I'd call it "city gravy". It is not made from flour but corn starch. No self respecting mother from our great rural areas in the country would make it with corn starch. It is properly made from flour, always, end of story. I'd go as far as saying that this is a fraud!

Why has the look of the country gravy changed went from the white country gravy to a brown dinner gravy I have 3 cans I bought will throw them out will pay the extra dollar and get Libbys brand.
