Great Value Deluxe Moist Devil's Food Chocolate Cake Mix, 15.25 oz

It's hard to believe that the Walmart brand cake mix is the best mix I have ever used. The taste is incredible, it always rises as it should, and the texture is great with very very few air bubbles inside the cake. I will not buy another brand now I just wish they had more flavors.

I love chocolate and this hits the spot. I like the taste of this cake mix and I almost always make it into a German chocolate cake, or I add a raspberry filling between the layers then add ganache on top. If I am in a hurry then I make a bundt cake. I will drizzle confectioners icing or ganache on top then add nuts or coconut on top it off.

I was surprisingly shocked! I expected a dry cake, as was my experience with other DFC. I made them into chocolate cup cakes, I sprayed the cupcake liners so they wouldnt stick to cake. The chocolate cup cakes came out DANGEROUSLY DELICIOUS, so much so I couldnt stop eating them! I had to hide most of them way back in the freezer so I couldnt get to them! I now keep a box or two of this mix in my pantry, Great for any ocassion. I paired them with the cream cheese %26 chocolate icings by combining one strip of each of icing into a plastic baggie %26 decorating a swirl of chocolate %26 cream cheese icing!

Whenever you can, avoid Dunkin Hines and Betty Crocker and buy either Pilsbury (the brand with the Dough-boy), or buy Great Value cake mix because the other two have gone down tremendously in quality over the past decade; it's as if they've made all the money they need, and no longer care how their product tastes. Great Value and Pilsbury are now the best.

GV cake mix of devil's food is actually pretty good and was a hit. I used it to make cupcakes and they are so good. pretty moist, plenty of chocolate flavor and so cheap in price. I added some sour cream into the batter and added two eggs instead of the three eggs it asks for. I will get more this mix next time. I enjoyed it and so did my family.

bought because i cant afford higher priced mixes. these are just as good and as easy to use! i add bananas and follow the recipe i have to do that. sometimes i add chopped nuts or great value mini chocolate chips. i often make this for neighbors, who absolutely LOVE the gift cake!

I made side by side and It's much better than Duncan Hines imo. Darker color, richer flavor, moister. It's been awhile since I did BC so I forget that comparison. I added an extra yolk (to both)to make it moister and DH was still very dry.

The Great Value cake mixes and frosting are every bit as good as any top brand. The cakes are sooo moist and great tasting, and the price is great, too. I buy them consistently!

I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth this cake batter is. I didn't have to use my mixer at all. The cake is moist, dense and delicious! I'll definitely keep this in stock in my pantry.

I tried to make donuts from a recipe and it didn't work out. They crumbled because the cake was very moist. So this is a delicious cake but too moist to do anything else with.
