As good as the name brand similar soda that your thinking of. Great taste Great value Had a great citrus taste Good caffeine buzz Definitely recommend Pick some up today at Walmart or walmart.com using your Walmart plus membership to have it delivered
The Walmart Diet Mountain Lightening tastes just as good (if not better) than Pepsi's version. Plus, the price is way better too! However, my store runs out so fast that sometimes I have to wait at least a month before they restock their shelves which makes me really frustrated!
Is it the same as the name brand? Nope. It's less tart/acidic to me, but just as bubbly and refreshing when cold. You can't really beat the price, though, at $1 a 2 liter at time of writing this review. If you're looking for a way to have the occasional soda while remaining on a budget, this is a solid swap.
I have drank Diet Mountain Dew since 1980, love it and cannot seem to stop having a glass or two a day. I recently tried the Diet Mountain Lightning brand from Walmart and honestly cannot taste any difference and I feel like I am a good judge since I've been drinking for more than 40 years. The Diet Mountain Lightning brand is almost 2/3 less of the cost for a 2L bottle versus buying the Diet Mountain Dew brand. I hope Walmart will start selling it in a 6-pack of 16.9 ounce bottles soon.
I drink 2 two liters a day of this for $1 even. diet mountain dew is $2.50 to $3 most places. So I am spending around $60 a month instead of around $180! I have been using the extra money for the last year to pay towards my utilities. Totally worth it! My tastes changed after drinking this for a few weeks and I don't even miss the Dew anymore!
This is a superior version of Mt Dew, either diet or zero sugar. And MUCH closer to the actual product it's supposed to be a substitute for (Mt Dew.) And it's by far the best diet or non-sugar soda I've ever drank. I love it. AND it actually quenches your thirst!
Some Walmart versions of sodas are not like the name brand but this one is. I've drank diet Mountain Dew all my life and this is exactly the same flavor. I usually get the 2 liters as they are around $1.00 and just keep refilling smaller bottles to take to work. Call me a penny pincher but it works!!
Mountain Lightning is the perfect replacement for Diet Sun Drop, 1/6 th the cost, just as good on taste, but lite on carbonation. As a Bariatric patient, I miss being able to have a cold soda, all because of carbonation, but now I can have that cold soda an a summer day, thank you for selling this product and at a price we can afford, proof that low cost doesn't have to mean low value.
An excellent value for your money, especially when compared to name brand options. If you drink pop, this can be a great pantry staple for your "citrus" style sodas. Although it is a diet variety, Diet Mountain Lightning doesn't have that overabundant diet-y taste or seem watered down, for which the flavorings work well.
I've been a Diet Mountain Dew drinker for years. I have been struggling to afford the real things since soda prices went nuts. I have switched over to Dt Mt Lightning and it saves me so much money. I enjoy it just as much as the real thing and it's only a buck for a 2 liter bottle.
