I prefer the Sharpe %26 Extra Sharpe type of Cheddar Cheese, and, the Walmart version is great tasting with the flavor and consistency of higher priced Cheddar cheeses. From blending in recipes, sandwich and hamburger melting, to grilled cheeses, the Sharpe and extra sharpe versions add a touch of flavor that standard American cheese can't beat. And, I enjoy the savings that comes with buying the Great Value brand.
I simply Love this extra sharp cheese. I like the price also. I cook my Taco Bake with it and it makes all my recipes taste Great. Some people won't use store brand products but once you use them jn your recipes the only difference is it's way less expensive that the name brand. Try all the flavors, you'll Love it ljke I do.
Great Value Extra Sharp Cheddar has a good cheddar flavor. It bakes up great in sausage balls without the cheese running out like with other brands. Walmart's price is the lowest above other store brands. I shred my own cheese and this 32 oz block fills a 1 gallon zip lock bag. It freezes really well for using later too.
This is an excellent cheese with great flavor and always a great price. I highly recommend this. I buy it in the 2 pound. Block and keep several blocks in the house. It is a version of cheese for pretty much any use whether it's sandwiches or nonchoors enjoy it. Just by itself or with some grapes, you could do anything with this. I will always have this cheese for great value. In my cupboard
Great Value Extra Sharp Cheddar Block Cheese has great flavor and a nice sharpness without being overpowering. The block size is perfect for shredding, slicing, or adding to recipes. It melts well and tastes just as good as more expensive brands. A great quality cheese at a great price!
I read everything I could from bird biologists and found out that birds love hard CHEESE, and that it is ok for them to eat if it is a small portion of all the food you put out for them each day. I cut this cheese in small dice...Here's who relishes this exotic addition to seeds, eggs, fruit, nuts and pepperoni that I feed the birds: Crows, Carolina and House Wrens, Blue Birds, Cardinals, Cat birds. There are probably many more that are eating the cheese t night-raccoons, possums, armadillos., etc. It is a very nice cheese, and I share a lot of it with the birds! Thank you, Walmart!!!!
My favorite cheddar cheese is Cabot's white extra sharp cheddar cheese. If Cabot was the same price as GV, I'd buy it instantly. But I choose GV over Borden and Kraft. Not only is the price so much better, but so is the taste. GV does well in mac %26 cheese, shredded into salads and tacos, good on cheese toast and quesadillas as well as slices paired with crackers or fruit for a fast, no cook, low mess meal solution on a busy day. On a morning rush with no time for breakfast I cut a slice of cheese, take a slice of bread to fold around it, grab a paper towel %26 I'm out the door with a very portable meal to eat on the run. I love seeing the price rollback banners when I'm shopping online. Keep them coming.
This is a great, delicious cheddar for the best price anywhere! I always grab the 32 oz. because it really goes far in many meal; it keeps fine in the fridge, in double-sealed food bags. When I hollar, "Nachos!", family can't move fast enough...the Walmart thin and crunchy tortilla chips are honestly the best, better even than pricey chips! Plus, I make a salsa using Walmart produce, that's so good, there's none left after Nachos!
This is some delicious cheddar cheese!!! It tastes just like Lucerne, but doesn't cost nearly as much. It also keeps well in the fridge, not taking on any funky tastes if something goes bad in your fridge like some other cheeses do... It's always the best right out of the package, the first few pieces, but overall it's a good quality for a bargain price! I'm a cheese lover, so flavour means everything to me and this is the only brand I buy now...
The texture is too soft and sticky for extra sharp cheddar. The taste is okay for cooking, but not so much for snacking. I buy it right now because I'm trying to save money, but I would much prefer a higher quality cheddar. The price is honestly the only redeeming factor.
