For a while I avoided shredded packaged cheese, all the chemicals and concerns. Bought this specifically for a recipe, and now it's always in my fridge. Fantastic blend, and so easy for nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas, excellent sprinkled over rice and beans. Expiration date is far in the future, quality is consistently good.
Whether you seal the bag with air in it, or you squeeze out the air and THEN seal the bag, it makes no difference; the cheese never bunches up or sticks together. The individual pieces of cheese always stay separated, just the way you buy it. And the cheese always tastes fresh, and melts well.
The Great Value Fiesta Cheese Blend is really good and works well on just about any dish I make with cheese. It melts nicely and adds a good flavor to meals like tacos, casseroles, and other quick dishes. I always get the Fiesta blend because it's versatile and dependable, and it's become my go-to cheese for everyday cooking.
We've been using this cheese for awhile. It's tasty, great for sprinkling on food. This, and other shredded cheese of this brand, don't usually get too chunky for sprinkling. But if is does, just break it up with a fork. It's a good blend. Goes with pretty much anything that cheese goes with.
On my order, the substitutes didn't give me a choice on one of the items and I got fine graded cheese instead of regular cheese, but that is fine. Cheese will work anyway it is cheese is good. Any way you melt it. Ha ha and the only other thing is the prices have gotten up so much. When you are disabled and can't get to the store, it is wonderful that it can be brought to you, but it is hard to pick it off of the ground if you can bend. But when you are disabled and can't get to the store, it is wonderful that it can be brought to you, but it is hard to pick it off of the ground if you can bend. I am happy that Walmart brings it to you so I am able to have food at my house. But not very much due to the new high prices and nobody answers the telephones at Walmart in Santa Fe or Bernalillo.
Always a reliable, budget-friendly option that melts smoothly and works well for tacos, nachos, casseroles, and more. The fine shred makes it easy to sprinkle evenly, and while the flavor is mild rather than bold, it's versatile for everyday meals. The resealable bag is convenient for keeping it fresh, making this a solid staple to keep on hand. And always have to pay the cheese tax to the dog!
It's good cheese for the money sometimes it taste is better than other times, but thus to be expected with cheese, you can't always get the same exact flavor with cheese on every bag because it's just like a cow. It's not gonna be the same cow every time you milk it to get that milk to make the cheese so you never know but for the most part for what you pay for this cheese it's great.
All of WalMart's Great Value brand of shredded cheeses are very good. There is a large selection of the Great Value brand shredded cheeses. I use the Fiesta blend for Tacos. This brand costs less than brand name shredded cheeses and saves you money and you don't have to give up quality or taste.
I really wish I could get regular shredded cheese without the excessive powdery garbage caked all over and a half inch thick in the bottom of the bag. I actually got the shredded and not the finely shredded, hoping for better.. not hardly.. can't even taste the cheese because of the garbage. So much for “Great Value” I will spend a little more on the others in the future.
I've been buying this exact cheese for years, now all of a sudden the cheese is really stringy almost like rubber. I put it on top of a casserole and ended up throwing the entire thing away because the cheese was so gross. I am not sure what they changed about it but I was not the only one in my household to notice this!!! It's just not good. I tried the cheese several different ways - cold, warmed in the microwave, warmed in the oven, warmed in a pan over an omelette and it was absolutely disgusting no matter what I did! I guess I will try a name brand and see if their cheese looks, tastes and acts like real cheese cuz whatever this stuff was, was NOT real cheese. Oh yeah, this wasn't just a fluke, one bag accident... I bought several bags of the Great Value shredded cheese and they were all yuck.
