i received 1 pack of the chocolate fudge and 1 pack of brown sugar cinnamon
The GV brand of these chocolate toaster pastries is as good, if not better, than the major brand name product. My favorite way to prepare as a snack, or even for breakfast, is tontoast them and spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the backs of them......delicious!
We Love These Frosted Chocolate Fudge Toaster Pastries, We Love The Taste Delicious And The Flavor Is Just Phenomenal. I Am Doing A Pantry Restock And I Wanted To Have Alot Of Different Items . And Toaster Pastries Are Not A Essential Food , But Its A Fun Sweet . That The Kids And Adults Can Enjoy. The Price Is Good On GV Toaster Pastries And I Highly Recommend.
We usually buy these once in a while as a special treat. The fudge toaster pastries are one of my favorite flavors. I like them just out of the pack, frozen, or heated in the toaster. Lots of chocolatey flavor that when you are craving that something sweet and chocolatey, these are perfect. Makes for a good on the go snack too. Have even tried them with ice cream sandwiched in the middle of one that I have broken in half. Very tasty!
These toaster pastries are one of those foods that instantly take me back to being a kid when the biggest problem in life was whether cartoons started before or after breakfast. The frosting is sweet, the filling is chocolatey, and somehow they still taste exactly like the kind of thing your younger self would consider a balanced meal. I added peanut butter to one and accidentally created something far greater than the sum of its parts. Was it healthy? Absolutely not. Was it delicious? More than I care to admit. The crust gets flaky, the frosting gets warm, and for a few minutes you're transported back to a time when bills didn't exist and every stick you found outside could become a sword. If you're looking for gourmet cuisine prepared by a celebrity chef, keep walking. If you're looking for a tasty excuse to feel like a kid again, these get the job done. Five stars, and my toaster didn't even try to negotiate for a second one.
Here is one of the items that has a decent cost to value comparison. Many items like this are quickly being priced out of being considered a good value. These toaster pastries have a good taste, remain fresh for a long time, contain some necessary nutrients, and come in a variety of flavors. The best part of this product is its cost. They are also a big hit with kids. These pastries at the time of this review, remained under $3. For the price you get 12 pastries. 2 per sealed package. They are great for a quick snack, or even an incomplete breakfast. I want to stress the cost vs. value, this one is a winner for cost-conscious shoppers. I recommend this product for all the reasons mentioned above. Hope this assessment helps.
need bigger boxes! like case packs, also need to print flavor onto the individual packaging, because my mother condenses these with other flavors as boxes empty out and its pretty much Guess your Pastry from there. Why have they stopped labeling the pouches?
Recently they stopped putting the flavor on the silver inner label. We like to put ours in a jar so we can grab our favorite flavor on the way out the door. Not possible any more because we can't tell which toaster pastry is what flavor. Might be chocolate, might be cherry or cinnamon. We didn't notice until this purchase that there was a change now we don't know how many of each kind we have.
These are very good overall, and something I would absolutely recommend to chocolate lovers, even over Pop-Tarts' version. I always found theirs to be shockingly lacking in chocolate fudgy-ness, if you will, for something that is essentially three layers of chocolate. These Great Value ones also struggle a bit to bring enough chocolate oomph in the crust and icing in particular, which both seem to just add more sweetness to the flavor than anything, however, unlike Pop-Tarts, the filling really makes up for those shortcomings, providing a very satisfyingly rich and silky chocolate ganache flavor and mouthfeel. So, while they still need some tweaks to be perfect, they do enough to be worthy of their description, and are the best version of this product I've tried so far. Combine that with the fact you get 12 for less than three bucks and they do more than enough to earn their brand name as well.
I'm really impressed with Great Value's ability to dupe, however, they missed the mark on the chocolate pop tarts. The taste just isn't very good and isn't a good dupe for Kelloggs chocolate pop tarts. The strawberry Great Value is an excellent dupe and tastes great.
