Great Value Shrimp That Cooks Up Perfectly

Rocky June 29, 2026

These shrimp have become a regular purchase in our house. My husband enjoys them a couple of times each month. They're an easy option to keep stocked in the freezer for quick meals. The shrimp cook up nicely in butter, staying tender and flavorful without becoming rubbery. They have a clean taste and are already peeled and deveined, which saves a lot of prep time. Leaving the tails on also makes them versatile for a variety of recipes. We use them most often for shrimp tacos, but they're equally good tossed into a stir-fry, pasta, or served alongside rice and vegetables. The frozen package allows you to cook only what you need and keep the rest for another meal. Overall, I think these shrimp are an excellent value. They're easy to prepare, consistently good quality, and make it simple to put together a delicious meal in just a few minutes.

Fine After Thawing But Can Make You Sad

Ed May 20, 2026

After you thaw em they're fine but I wouldn't eat em frozen! I don't think you're even supposed to, but who knows. Then you can put em in all kinds of stuff like salads and Thai food. And be careful because they have tails on em! I guess that's ok because some people like to pluck em out of their food and pop em in their mouth while holding onto the tail and then pull the tail off. Still, it's a little bit gross, those tails. Just a little bit, but still. It is a tail we're talkin about. Reminds you that we're dealing with an animal. A little one, but still. I guess it was at one point just a little fella paddlin around in the water using its tail and now I'm using that same tail to put the poor thing into my mouth and then I just leave the tail on the edge of my plate, kind of forgotten like. I don't know. Sometimes writing these reviews makes me sad.

Great Shrimps

Anonymous February 24, 2026

l love this shrimps. I buy peeled and deviled. Sometimes without peeled. Just thaw and add your favorite seasoning. I sometimes add butter and foil when adding to the air fryer. The price has gone up a bit. I just limit the amount I purchase. Great size also. Compared to other frozen shrimps I prefer these.

very good

Sharon December 6, 2025

I love you using this shrimp to make my inexpensive shrimp alfredo and scampi. for the shrimp Alfredo I use knorrs alfredo pasta along with some broccoli and it's a perfect dish. for the scampi I boil some spaghetti noodles (angel hair) I melt a little butter and some olive oil and a pan I add my shallots and my garlic and let them get tender then I add the shrimp and cook until shrimp is done add the noodles toss and perfect. very inexpensive but yet it looks expensive and it tastes great...

The shrimp was very good. Sometimes frozen seafood lacks freshness and may show signs of freezer burn. Surprisingly. These were delicious. We made shrimp scampi and noodles. Walmart does have good frozen food at reasonable prices. Pick up some shrimp and create a great recipe.

tail on = more flavor

Linladyhappy April 21, 2026

3 1/2 stars really. GV is cheapest. these taste fine. i prefer tail on in processed shrimp for more flavor and lower price. i usually pay a little more for more flavorful US 'gulf' or 'wild caught' shrimp when in stock. Frozen shrimp is handy for last minute meals, goes with everything and thaws and cooks fast. Especially after the radioactive cesium recall last year, i dont usually buy asian farm raised, but with such high food costs nowadays, i might have gone for cheapest. i dont recall what source this particular bag was labeled as, but GV shrimp is usually labeled as farmed in asia.

we'll start with the fact that when they sealed the bag they put a hole in it. I will take a picture and post it. because there was a hole in it and it was frozen. the whole bag is freezer burned. every single piece is covered in ice. inedible please do better before you kill someone
