Been buying this for a very long time; for me, it has a fantastic salami flavor and texture. I'm a hard salami addict, and this suits me well. It is cut super thin, has a fresh taste, and a great price. As an alternative to fresh deli cut, I'd totally recommend this. I have also tried name brand, and the GV version is just as good.
I grew up on "summer sausage" sandwiches and extended that to my children. The Great Value salami is satisfying in both flavor and texture and my whole family is guilty of eating it plain out of the package. When it's out of stock, I've learned my children don't like any other brands we've tried because they are too bold or smoky. My eldest has even complained about slices being so thin, it makes it too "slimy." Great Value is our Goldilocks, just right in every way.
This salami is our favorite for sandwiches or for a pizza topping. It is not the really hard salami, so it makes great sandwiches. It is not overly salty like most hard salamis. We use it as a pizza topping every once in a while. It comes divided in half in a resealable container, which is also convenient. It tastes great.
At my house we all enjoy Salami. I have tried a number of brand names including a Deli Salami. Overall I found that my family really enjoys the Great Value Salami more than the others we tried. So why pay more for less flavor. I like keeping it on hand not only for sandwiches but also its a great snack quartered %26 layered with cheese and crackers!
I buy this a lot. Some salami is greasy but this isn't. I love that it is already sliced for sandwich or can roll for a charcuterie board. Also use it in my salad and grinder sandwiches. It is easy to chop. Add plus is the plastic container is reusable too. Fits great in lunchbox and ice chests. Leftovers--no problem. I have a container.
Very good salami cut then easier to eat I guess what else would I say because I am a fan of hard to run and this is one of the better brand being strange cause it's a great value brand but I like it better than most that I've tried.
These are perfectly sliced… Great value salami is very good. Cold cut meat.. I like buying it with the little container, as they are cut perfectly, and I use it to make homemade subs!
We don't eat a lot of lunch meats, but this is the only salami that my kids will eat. Personally, I prefer it as well. it's thinner sliced, but not as super thin as fresh from the deli. The thickness is perfect. The moisture content is good. It's smokey and salty like salami should be, and works great in wraps, sandwiches, or even just by itself.
I have bought this numerous time and absolutely loved it. However, recently they must've changed the recipe or the company that supplies it. It is very greasy, has a different taste and texture, and is very peppery. It's closer to Genoa salami than the HARD SALAMI IT USED TO BE. The price has increased a $1.50 in the last 6 months or so and the quality has dropped!
THE GREAT VALUE HARD SALAMI LUCHMEAT HAVE A LOT OF SLICES, BUT THEY ARE TOO THINLY CUT CAUSING ME TO USE MANY SLICES TO GET THE DESIRE AMOUNT I WANT TO MAKE A SANDWICH. IF I HAD TO CHOOSE, I PRIORITIZE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. THE CUT IS NOT THICK ENOUGH IN MY OPINION.
