Listen. I bought this bacon thinking, “Cool, I’ll make breakfast.” What I didn’t expect was to fall into a passionate, smoky love affair that has completely derailed my life. The moment it hit the pan, the smell slapped me across the face like an old-timey movie villain. I was instantly weak. I stood there, hypnotized, as the fat sizzled like it was trying to seduce me. I didn’t blink for eight full minutes. Then I took a bite. You know in cartoons when characters float off the ground toward the scent of something delicious? That happened. I levitated. I think I briefly saw my ancestors. They were impressed. I had big plans that day—gym, errands, life stuff. But after one strip of this hickory-smoked sorcery, I canceled everything and made a second batch. Then a third. At one point I just stood over the stove eating it with my bare hands like some kind of bacon gremlin. I offered a piece to my dog. He cried. He’s never going back to kibble. None of us are. Final thoughts: Smoky? Yes. Crispy? Like a dream. Greasy? Just enough to make you feel slightly rebellious. Emotionally devastating in the best way? 100%. Would I recommend it? Yes. But only if you’re ready to risk your sanity, your diet, and your relationships.
This is my go-to bacon. for the price you get good quality bacon! I always have a couple packs of this in my freezer.
It's easy to cook, and it doesn't shrink in size much when cooking. I think the taste is of good quality and makes for a versatile brand to add to your breakfast and lunch fun foods. It's crisp, crunchy, and I love it with eggs, grits, oatmeal, bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches.
I don't know if this bacon is better now than years ago, or if I have learned how to fry it better! It is good! I recommend washing the bacon in plain water to get rid of some of the salt, but either way, it is good! I think that in the past, I was over cooking it! Let it drain well on paper towels and it will become crispy and enjoyable! Probably not considered a health food, but nothing that tastes good is!
This bacon is above my expectations. I wanted it to chop up and put in with some baked dishes, but it was too good. The salt level was perfect. It wasn’t extra salty and the percent of meat to fat was beautiful, much better than some of the top brand names I bought. great value should be proud. We had BLTs and I’ll buy something else for a casserole.
This bacon when cooked in the house will wake anyone with out a brand name attached to it. *Fun Fact*If you ever mistakenly bought maple bacon and hate maple bacon, take it out of the package, separate the slices, and rinse in clear cold water. The result? You got regular bacon.
I accidentally bought this product. while it's not terrible, it is not great. The one thing I dislike about this product is its lack of consistency when it comes to the bacon slices. Some of the slices are paper-thin and some are much thicker making it difficult to cook the bacon evenly.
I've always bought Walmart brand bacon in the past. It's always been lean and had minimal shrinking. However, this last package was in my curbside order and wasn't anything but fat. I went ahead and fixed it but it shrunk up to nothing and had no meat at all on it. It was a waste of money because it was inedible and was thrown in the garbage.
I had a delivery made. Which I am pretty much done with that. Rotten food and poor products. Where is the meat!? There is no meat!!! 7 pieces ! Is m done with Walmart food!
Bought this item to make some homemade BLT's, but the fat content was horrible. i can't remember ever purchasing a pound of bacon with literally no meat content. I will never purchase Great Value bacon again, and usuaĺly Grea t Value is a dependable product.
