Great Value Iodized Salt, 26 oz

For 30 years the only salt I bought was the one with the little girl on the blue container, until one day, that brand was sold out (we all remember 2020) and I was "forced" to buy this GV salt. Well, guess what? The salt tastes the same and costs less. It's a Win-Win. If you want to spend the extra for pink salt or salt flakes, go for it, but for 95% of my recipes, this GV salt works just fine.

Iodine is necessary for thyroid function. It is required for our bodies to function properly. It can be used to disinfect/heal wounds, in cooking, add a little to water restore electrolytes while outside, use to deter slugs from plants, food preservation and in cleaning.

This salt was of excellent value. There is no need to spend the extra dollars on other types of salt. How good can the price get, for an awesome tasting salt that is also healthy? I am glad that Walmart is still able to bring to its customers great deals, and I consider this offering an indicant of value that Walmart is known for. I've purchased Great Value Salt for years now. I find nothing any different except for the price which is a lot less than name-brand. I'm not sure if they ever had store brand products when we were kids but now it's a means to save money with the price of groceries sky-rocketing.

I bought this because I had a slug problem in my garden. Now I don't have a slug problem in my garden. Going by that I would assume it seasons food well also.

Not sure what has happened over the years but salt is not as salty as it used to be. Not just this brand but any table salt. It seems to take twice as much as it used to.

Tape over cap could not be peeled off. It was permanently glued to the container. Had to cut around metal cap. Then cap opens at an odd angle. The sides of the car were unequal. Poured salt into the center of a 2-qt sauce pot (to boil pasta). The pot was 6" in diameter. Salt poured all around the stove top outside the pot. The packaging is a disaster! Do NOT buy this unless you want to create a mess every time you open it.
