As a single guy who likes biscuits and gravy on occasion but doesn't always want to make my biscuits from scratch these are a convenient alternative. I can eat 5 biscuits in a day and the taste and texture of these are to my liking. With sausage gravy they make a very filling breakfast.
Canned biscuits were a staple at our house when I was very young, but my mom made homemade biscuits almost every day. I never mastered that process, but these biscuits are quite close to homemade taste. I keep them in my fridge almost all the time!
These tasty refrigerated canned biscuits are the best there is! Yes, even better than the big name brands! We're just plain old country folks here. Just the two of us since the kids are grown and gone. So most of our breakfasts are simple eggs and bacon, or eggs and sausage patties, on a biscuit. And these little short cans (5 biscuits to a can) are perfect for the two of us. I fry eggs until the yolk is hardened, and crisp the bacon or sausage. Slide the two on a biscuit, the Oihla! Breakfast on the go! Two each, and one we split between our two Chihuahuas. The cost is very economical when compared to name brands of the same size. About half! And the taste, I think, is far superior! I highly recommend these biscuits, and rate them with 5 stars, and a big thumbs up!
Baked as directed and came out looking weird (see pic). Has never happened to me when using the name brand alternative. Should've known. Seemed weird that the can never popped open. Was 2 months from being expired. I have another can. Will adjust my review if I have a better experience. This can could've been a fluke.
each time I purchase these biscuits whether it be 5ct or 8ct, they are no good in the can. they are old, the can does not pop like a regular can of biscuits and they are stuck together straight out of the can. i will not purchase the great value brand of can biscuits again.
This time I received a bad can of biscuits. First of all they didn't not pop open, I had to basically rip it open. Realized that the biscuits are flat. They won't have a rise. They will not taste good. This has happened one other time. So disappointed. I love my biscuits.
I think you have a bad batch of these biscuits. I open the first one. It didn't pop open. They were not soft, very firm like biscuits that are way out of date. However, these were not out of date. I didn't think much about the first one. I just thought “Well, . . . I have another one”. But it was the same way.
The tube failed during packaging and the biscuits were exposed to air before opening. Once opened, the uncooked biscuits were rock hard and not usable. Went in the trash and not worth disputing or requesting a refund. I'd recommend paying more and getting a better quality product - like Grands 5 Count.
On December 20th I purchased four of this product. out of the four, only ONE was edible. The other three were old, stuck together, did not rise and were as dense as cement. (Product probably got too warm in transit or at store.) What a waste of money!!!
Don't waist your money even though it's tempting with the cost of name brand. As I prepare to bake opening the can was the worst process I have ever experienced. Even with the end of a spoon as directed, was very difficult. Then when I finally got them out of the can I could separate the biscuits they were kinda melded together. I baked the in pre heated 350 oven they never raised on bit! That's was just blah not flavor at all. I must say the term hockey puck is fitting.
