Great value jumbo eggs are simply the best! They’re just the right size for baking, and they’re the best size for cooking for breakfast! The yolks have a consistently good color. There as fresh as any eggs purchased and certainly remind me of farm fresh eggs.
One of my favorite things about jumbo eggs is the likelihood of getting a double-yolker. It feels like winning a tiny lottery! GV Eggs are always fresh and delicious. And even when you have them delivered, there's almost never any broken ones! I think of the past year I've been ordering 2-3 dozen per week, I might have received a broken egg twice. My odds aren't even that good when I go buy them myself! So, yeah, big thumbs up for Walmart and big thumbs up for their pickers and delivery staff!
The eggs are wonderful. Delivery not so much. One early dozen had four cracked eggs. the latest has one, slightly cracked, which I also felt should be discarded. Several other deliveries were fine. It may be the size of the eggs lessens the protection the foam container offers. I never had any such problems with extra large eggs OR when I bought them in the store myself, because I always lift the lid and wiggle the eggs to be sure none are pasted in place with leaked white.
Normally, I enjoy these jumbo eggs, but having them delivered is always a gamble. This time though, the cracked eggs were not broken in transit. They were obviously cracked and dried before they were pulled from the shelf. Blame goes on the shopper, not the delivery person.
These are not JUMBO eggs. They are large eggs. I have put one of these so call jumbo egg next to a large brown egg and you can see they are the same size if not smaller. The two white eggs are "Jumbo" eggs and the brown is large. Sure they lowered the price but they also lowered the size of them. The jumbos were really big and a lot of them had double yolks and these so called jumbos dont. The last time i saw a double yolk was early 2025. Walmart lowered the quantity and quality and ripping us off!!! Just check all eggs and compare sizes before you buy.
The eggs were not all the same size. In fact, some were way smaller making me think someone switched some eggs out. They were not fresh as evidenced by the very runny whites. 4 out of 12 were cracked or broken. The others were stuck to the carton. I swear, two were covered with white substance that I felt like could be a chicken forming?? It was disgusting.
These eggs were not up to USDA standard size for jumbo eggs. The whole dozen weighed only 27.9oz. A dozen should weigh at minimum 30oz. I could tell immediately that they were smaller than they should be because they fit in my egg shelf in the fridge without touching each other. Something they normally do. if you bought Great Value Jumbo eggs recently... check the size!
Although usually I'm very happy with the eggs, the last time, the delivery person dropped 2 DOZEN eggs on the front steps and I was left with a mess and very few complete eggs. WAS A TOTAL WASTE. And getting the refund from Walmart was a hassle. So the lesson is: Get your eggs but don't be surprised if your useless delivery person does not handle them correctly.
What happened to “jumbo” eggs?!? These are what the extra large used to be and large are like what used to be medium. Continuing to give less and charge more is getting hard to deal with. Walmart is and their suppliers are, the leaders in these type of tactics. I’m disgusted with it all! At what point does it end, when “jumbo” are the size of quail eggs?
I did not get to use the eggs, so I can't tell you what quality they were. The eggs fell over during transport and broke. I was told I could get more sent to me. Now I wait. I am a senior with no car so what do you do in a case like this? I just hope I get new eggs. lol
