Make sure when youre preparing filter its FULLY submerged for 15 minutes and all the air bubbles are out then you wont have a problem with water being filtered super slow . Although there is a warning on the box -allow more time to process water . Give your pitcher a little tap when youre filling it up to filter your water to get air bubbles out also . It takes about 5 minutes for mine to filter 8 cups with those little tricks
I'm voting 3 stars only because without actually testing the water being filtered we don't know actually what is filtered....I will say it takes a lot longer to filter so I'd have to assume it's “working” as designed! Thru my Limited research lead itself is hard to filter hence the longer filter time....I always fill the pitcher when the filter gets right under the “output” area. And then fill it Completely up. Just be careful when transporting from sink to fridge so it doesn't “overflow”
I do not recommend buying these. I bought them for the first time recently, and have had poor results. If you don't shake the filter every time before you fill the pitcher, the water just sits in the fill reservoir. And then the water may not filter all the way down. Save your money and don't choose these filters.
I've purchased other Great value water filters in the past and they were great but this filter is insanely slow. It's so slow that it's basically unusable so we will be returning this item.
Was told "Pick up today" when purchasing. was then sent an update that item would be available by 8:00pm. Drove 45 minutes and item was not there as well as pick-up desk staff had closed early.
These filters. Might work. But mostly the flow rate is “poor to none” when trying to fill the pitcher. Yes, you can follow the initial rinsing and soaking steps, and they work for awhile. But if your pitcher is not kept absolutely full, the cartridge drains, draws air, and stops flowing. Bashing the pitcher on the counter with water in the reservoir MIGHT get it flowing again. But over time the cartridge becomes useless. Back to genuine Brita cartridges solved the issue. The imitations are NOT a Great Value! Lesson learned!
By far the worst water filter you can waste your $20 on. It was on clearance aisle, $8 per box, thus I bought 4 boxes. They filter one drop per second if you pierce through the filter layers above the charcoal powder. If you don't pierce, good luck, no drip at all. i tried 6 different filter cartridges, all the same. So, heading for the landfill.
Well, I see that others have had the same problem with this product that I have. I'd bought these filters before, but until now they had never filtered for just a short while and then basically quit working. $20 down the drain. And now I see they're charging $3 more for the same product! I sure hated to, but I've had to go to Brita.
I wish I could give negative stars. These were still draining after 5 hours!! It was maddening. But none of the GV filters are worth anything anymore. The regular ones were just as bad. Suffice it to say, I'm back on Brita. The price difference is for my sanity.
Worst filters EVER! bought a pack of these because the name brand lead removal filters were out of stock. this is a 4 pack and i followed the instructions And soaked the filter for 15 minutes at first. nothing. not even a drop, so I soaked the filter in a glass of water overnight and attempted to run a pitchers worth of water through to discard. nothing. not a drop, literally the only water that came through leaked down the side not through the filter itself. Opened the second filter from the box and repeated the process. took about 6 hours for one cup of water to drip through. tried again with the third and finally fourth filters with the same results. These were filters are so bad I not only waited in line for 45 minutes to return them, I made this online account to review these. Turned around and bought the brand name blue lead removal filters with the money from returning these and am far happier. every time i use the big brand name one I say "bless brita" because their filters are 5000000% better than these. it's not that these filters are slow or clog quickly. they don't work straight out of the box. do yourself a favor and don't buy these!
