Even though this says it's for a ceiling fan, I put it in a lamp on my bedside table and it's perfect! It puts out the exact right lighting, without being blinding in the middle of the night if I have to turn it on. I really like this bulb in my bedside lamp, so I'll be ordering another for the other side of the bed. I originally ordered this thinking it would fit my ceiling fan, but it doesn't. I had forgotten that my ceiling fan bulbs have a smaller base to them. I'm attaching a picture of 2 other bulbs and this one adjacent to them for the different base comparisons.

using this in a lamp that i can dim. it puts off wonderful light. i can dim the lamp. the clear top of the bulb really is flattering as well. great value. love knowing this will save money, not get hot to the touch, and last a very, very long time. highly recommend.

It's small and comfortable to handle and screwed in really easy.It puts out a nice soft light with no glare, which I like because I hate glare! Very uncomfortable on the eyes. I looked at this bulb for a minute or two and nothing! Which is Awesome! I will purchase this one when the time comes and I think it will be a while before it burns out!
