I picked up this 32 oz block mainly to hand-shred for pizzas and spaghetti, and honestly, it's become part of my weekly arm workout. Hand-shredded cheese just tastes better—no weird powder, no clumps—just real mozzarella that actually melts the way it's supposed to. And it's way cheaper than the pre-shredded bags, which seem to get smaller every year while costing more. Go figure. The block has a good, firm texture, and it shreds cleanly without turning into a mushy mess. Melts beautifully on pizza, and on spaghetti it makes me feel like I'm running a small, family-owned Italian restaurant out of my kitchen. If you don't mind a little manual labor and want better flavor for less money, this block is the way to go. Plus, you can pretend you're getting your steps in… but for your arms.
I definitely like this geez I always buy this cheese. I buy this and then I go home and I shred it instead of buying the pre-shred already in the bag that has the powdered stuff on the outside. I don't like that so I find it better for me. It might be a little more inconvenient but for me it taste better. Pricewise is better all around. It's a better deal. Try it out.
I love a good value, especially if you do not have to compromise quality. That is what you get with this Walmart store brand name mozzarella block. We buy cheese in the block form most of the time. I have heard that the bagged shredded cheese has potato starch or similar product to keep it from clumping together, and that is something that doesn't fit in with my preferred diet choice. This mozzarella has such a creamy and mild tasting quality that is what I look for in a cheese. It grates up nicely and I have not had any problem with it clumping. It is perfect for pizza, casseroles and even in sauces and soups to add extra creaminess. Put it in a salad for an extra boost in protein. This cheese is half the cost of top brand blocks, and honestly, I cannot taste any difference. Save some money and give this Great Value Mozzarella cheese a try.
VERY reasonable price for a big, delicious chunk of cheese! I always keep Walmart's huge (32 oz.) blocks of cheese on hand for everything from snacks and hors d'oeuvres to pizzas and nachos! I am always happy with the freshness and taste of Walmart's cheeses!
I buy cheese from the block since they don't have the mess in them like the pre-shredded cheeses. I like to buy these blocks and shred them myself as they taste better and don't clump like the others.
Good price when I purchased %26 taste. Mozzarella low in fat part skim milk. Saved me a lot. Purchased 2 blocks. Cut in half %26 freeze them some. Great on toast etc.
They are often out of the shredded which I need for making pizza and other recipes. Picked up the large brick to toss in the freezer for future use. I have been buying these off and on for several years for snacking and recipes. It's hit or miss… Sometimes they are A bit dry and Mealy while other times they are more moist and flavorful. I have found that the smaller sizes tend to be a better quality even though the price is higher. To use for shredding.on pizza, you won't notice to texture much if you get a bad break.
I requested a whole milk 16 oz block of mozzarella and received a 32 oz hard block of low-moisture part skim mozzarella cheese. it cost much more than what I originally requested.
FROM YOU I WAS RECIEVED THE MERCHANDISE AN I CALLED 24 HOURS LATER TO TELL THEM IM MAKING A MANACOTTI WITH CHEESE BUT COULDNT MAKE IT AN NO MILK CHOCOLATE I BUY ONE ONCE A MONTH I M BEDRIDDEN MOTORCYCLISTS AN A DRUNKEN DRIVER KILLED MY WIFE'S AN PUT MY LIKE THIS AN IM GONNA STOP GETTING MY GROCERIES SO WE DONT MEET LIKE THIS THEE BEST STORE OF SARASOTA FLORIDA SINCERELY BIGDAN66
I'm not one of those who gives bad reviews for a personal issue like a delivery that went wrong or a broken egg. There are places to share your issues and Walmart is pretty good at making them right. This cheese, while melting and looking like mozzarella has no flavor and the texture is what I'd imagine Play-Dough might taste like. If it had any cheese flavor it might pass for grilled cheese sandwiches for kids but unless you want to know what soap tastes like I'd stay clear of this one. I thought I'd try it because in spite of what we hear prices are not down! Prices are up and going higher so we have to watch our shopping dollars. Walmart saves me money and I appreciate that but not on my mozzarella!
