The cheddar cheese block was a huge hit for my breakfast meals in the morning. I had shredded the cheese and sprinkle a little bit of cheese on my eggs for a cheese omelette. The cheese block can be distributed in salads and inside sandwiches. The cheese block was one of the major parts for the ingredients to the egg and cheese omelettes. I am happy to report that the cheese lasted me about two weeks. Thank you, Walmart.
Great Value medium Cheddar medium block cheese has great taste snd an even greater price! The block cheese cuts smoothly, grates well, and has a flavor that even my 3 year old great grand daughter loves (If we can keep it away from her Daddy!) Grilled cheese sandwiches come out melty and gooey using the Great Value medium Cheddar cheese! I recommend it to everyone! 😀
Recently did a test between GV Mild vs GV Medium Cheddar Cheese 8oz block. The medium cheddar is a little stronger than the mild, and has a traditional cheddar cheese texture where the mild cheddar is softer and more processed in addition to having less flavor. Reminded me of a block of American cheese. Medium Cheddar when you don't want sharp.
Like to cut thin slices for sandwiches and burgers. Melts good. Used to get the sharp chedder, but my taste have changed and now I get the medium. Taste good.
The mild cheddar cheese is delicious it has a nice flavor it's my favorite while my fiancé also likes cheddar cheese but the very sharp one and so does Gram I don't think Walmart makes a cheese that isn't Tasty and it's not real expensive thanks T C
Cheddar is too mild and since I get migraines, I have to steer clear of the sharp and extra sharp varieties. I experimented and found the medium is stronger than mild and doesn't trigger a migraine. But most brands got away from medium. I found Great Value sells it and decided to try it. It's not the twin of the brand I used to eat, but it is now my go-to for all my cheddar needs. I also like that it's in block form, so I don't get all the additives from the shredded variety.
This cheese ruined two of my favorite recipes because I cut the cost. Sadly it cost me more due to tossing both my main entrees this great value cheese ruined! Picture of my Mexican cornbread that has seasoned hamburger, chili peppers, onions, tomatoes inside with a layer of cheese. This entire pan was ruined because of cheese was a gross blob of chewy cheese instead of blending and melting into cornbread. Cheese DOES NOT MELT into baked or cooked recipes. It stays sticky and blobs of a chewy mess. The two main “brand name”cheeses I usually buy does not do this making it the great value cheese itself. This product might be fine for cold foods like salad or a cheese platter. But I will not buy the great value cheese again because the texture is caused by some additive that might not be healthy. I made my macaroni cheese bake, and my Mexican cornbread. The cheese did not mix while melting and completely ruined both large recipes costing me over $35.00 to make both. Trying to be honest on review and review would not let me click one stars on the important issues as why NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT…ironically.
I purposely got block cheese to grate into a dish that was in the over for almost 2 hours and it didn't melt. Something is wrong with it and I thought this was so weird and now I'm concerned there are ingredients in it that are not listed.
I ordered this cheese for the holidays but I went to go use it this week and the package is covered and mold and blown up as of clearly there is a contaminant in this cheese of some sort. I'd like to return it but apparently it's too late even though it has the best before date in mid-may so I guess it's going to go to the trash.
not cheese. this is some sort of plastic sludge that does not melt. i ruined an entire hunk of ham and half a bag of potatos trying to get this garbage to melt. im so tired of wasting food because your products. i will not be buy grear value anything anymore. they used to be a cheap alternative and now their just trash
