The Great Value Mesquite Smoked Turkey Breast offers tender, flavorful slices with a subtle smoky taste that works well for sandwiches, wraps, or quick snacks. The 16 oz plastic tub keeps the turkey fresh and convenient for multiple uses, and the slices are easy to layer or fold. Overall, this mesquite smoked turkey is a tasty, versatile, and convenient deli meat for everyday meals.
This is one of our favorites for a little extra flavor. The mesquite smoke adds a nice depth that makes it stand out from regular turkey. It's still light enough for everyday use but has that extra something that keeps it interesting. Great for sandwiches, snacks, or putting out for gatherings, it always gets eaten. Another one we like to keep stocked because it's consistently good.
Like this smoked variety quite a lot. Very tasty, and good flavor. Do wish the thin slices were more easily separated, but all thin sliced meats are like that. Sometimes instead of trying to pry apart a slice or two, I just grab a chunk to tear out. Price is good, too, compared to other brand stores.
I hate to reveal the truth about this turkey meat. honestly it is tastier and more flavorful than behind the counter deli turkey or name brand prepackaged Turkey meat. please don't go out and buy all this meat, it is priced better than all the other brands too. even my picky husband that doesn't like turkey eats this , he thinks it's ham. it is great! please leave some for me down here in Florida.we have tried them ALL!
We always buy the Great Value mesquite turkey breast. We love the flavor and always use this turkey and Great Value pre-cooked bacon when making turkey clubs. There's a generous amount of thin sliced turkey and just enough mesquite flavor to make your taste buds say, "Wow!".
White meat turkey breast slices seasoned perfectly, thinly sliced, nicely packaged. I enjoyed a great sandwich utilizing the Mesquite Smoked turkey and Great Value Rye bread, spread with GV Honey Dijon mustard, with sharp cheddar cheese slices. The GV Bread and Butter pickles were the perfect accomplishment. Excellent food, easily prepared, pleasantly enjoyed.
Yeah, this stuff is good. Smokey. I like it. But the slices feel just a little bit greasy or slimy. I mean, I don't mind slimy when somethin is lotiony or has jelly on it, like my grandson's face after eatin a PB%26J. But slimy ain't right on a slice o turkey. Not that this is super slimy or nothin. It ain't. Just a little slimy, like a little bit of condensation or what not. Don't slow me down none. I gobble her right down. Though out of respect for the turkey, maybe gobble ain't the right word.
I buy this and almost all the other family sized great value lunch meat for a few reasons. First, the mesquite flavor of this turkey is good. It's one of the best flavors of all the lunch meats. Second, you get a lot in the package. We eat a lot of sandwiches so the family size is good for us. Third, the packaging is great! We wash and reuse the package over and over. It's better than buying tupperware, and we dont feel bad if it gets ruined or goes home with someone with leftovers. The packaging is microwave safe and dishwasher safe. And the final reason, is that the lunch meat isn't sliced too thin. Its perfect for a filling sandwixh without having to use a bunch of pieces.
I really like this sliced turkey. It tastes good and rarely has any bad spots in it. The expiration date is unrealistic. I buy a little ahead so I don't run out but when I got ready to open it, both pouches were expanded with air ready pop. This was well before the expiration date but obviously some beastie was already at work in the packages. This is not the first time this has happened with GV sliced meats.
There is something wrong with the packaging on this meat. These have not even been opened and they are blowing up like a balloon. We can't even put the top back on the container because they are blowing up. This is scary and makes us wonder if the meat inside is okay. We are switching to Hillshire Farms till Walmart can get this figured out and fixed.
