This is milk gave me special powers. I didn't know I could fly until I drank this milk. Suddenly I was getting calls from batman, superman, and even to my surprise...Wonder Woman who needed my help. Buy this and you too will be a super hero.....for real.
Let me be frank, in today's grocery cost environment I prefer this milk item because it is one dollar cheaper and just as good as the NC family grocery store one mile away. After Helene I use a smaller fridge and this size is purchased for fitment reasons. Walmart Brand Milk has a linear price increment (a half gallon cost about half as much as a gallon). My big family franchise store one mile away charges 2/3 as much for the half gallon as the one gallon. I buy 3 half gallons at a time so I'm getting a $3 savings each order. The half gallon sizes seem to stay fresh longer than the gallon size. Also, I find week to week, Walmart grocery prices are more stable than my NC family owned grocery that is one mile away.
this is another item like the eggs that is hard to order and expect a decent delivery of a product. my milk always goes bad way before the expiration date. but sometimes the expiration date is just a few days beyond the delivery date. I ordered small containers because I'm by myself and I don't drink the milk up quickly. but I know because I can't go in the store myself and pick the ones with the latest dates on them I have to get what you send me. but the fact that you're great value 1% or 2%, court or half gallon, whatever I order goes bad within a few days. I don't know if it's because you don't pack your Frozen and cold foods in a cooler for delivery or if it's because the shopper buys or picks up all of the milk and cheese and refrigerator and Frozen items first and then walks around with them at room temperature until the entire order is finished. if that's how you guys do your shopping you should teach them not to pick up any milk or dairy products such as ice cream, until the last minute. I used to get my groceries from Stop %26 Shop, the nice thing about that is that the Shopper worked at the store and collected the items, and took them to a room where they had freezers and refrigerators and all the delivery people had to do was come in and pick up the proper bags for the proper recipients, and then deliver it. and all the deliveries came in coolers. big giant coolers with big giant ice packs. and they had a cart to bring the coolers up to the apartment door or to the house, wherever they needed to go they didn't leave it downstairs sitting on the floor because they refused to come into a multi-unit building or leave their car in a non parking area. I sure wish you guys had that kind of delivery and packing service. feel like I should go back to Stop %26 Shop.
The reason I no longer want to purchase this 1/2 gallon 1% milk is that they deliver items that expire too soon. One time I received one dated May 6 and the next one (week later) said May 3 so I had to open the 2nd one first while the first one already opened spoiled.
only issue we are having is once these get opened they cannot be stored lying down because they will leak , bad, like really bad. the hotel fridge is so tiny that's how we have to store it so it's a problem when the caps don't re-seal and it all ends up on the food below it and the floor
The milk is okay. I mix in protein powder or hot chocolate, and it tastes fine. But the issue is it spoils quickly. It only lasts about three days after opening. And even if not opened, it's usually starting to turn about two days before the “best by” date. So if I don't drink it quickly enough, it's spoiled and I end up having to dump it down the drain. And given the price of groceries, it's like pouring money away. Extremely frustrating.
GV brand milk always spoils well ahead of the expiration date and gets tossed. Other milk brands keep as usual. I do not know why, but I can only assume its the source and processing (or old milk recycling). Regardless, it mostly tastes like milk when opening, but rarely lasts more than a few days. If you go through a 1/2 gal in a couple of days, this is a good buy.
I don't want to talk about Milk! I had intended to order cheese, but apparently I did not do that. I don't want to forget again! Last time I got cheese I do not like! This time I must have forgot it. When I order any item, I want and expect to get a suitable item. For example, if I want cheddar cheese, you don't give me Monterrey and Colby! That is not suitable cheese! That upsets me!
This is the 2nd time the bill EXPIRED within a day or two of purchase. I wish yr shoppers would check the expiration dates of products bc the buyers get home and have products they can't use and have spent hard earned money for nothing. It's just frustrating
Every time I buy milk at this Walmart, it turns sour in one day. I don't know if their freezers are out if the workers just don't wanna put it away, but it stinks. Open the cap up and smell it. It stinks like sour milk after one day.
