First and foremost it is great that these vegetables contain No added chemicals, preservatives, or sugars!!! You can steam these in the bag that they come in right in a microwave rather quickly. We steam and eat these with cheese sauce, and sometimes garlic butter sauce. We also steam them and use them in homemade Shepherds Pie and Meat Pot Pie, as well as endless casserole recipes. At only 50 calories per serving and such a fair price these veggies cannot be beat!!! Enjoy
We really enjoy this mixed veggie in casseroles, soups, and even with an omelette. We like to use mayo, cheese, or sour cream to create a veggie treat. I like that this isn't loaded down with water and I don't have to drain it prior to preparation. The taste is fresh, not stale, and this warms nicely in the microwave.
I order these mixed Vegetables from Walmart for two dishes. Egg fried rice and Shepherd's pie. It could also make a great side. I only have been ordering for my ghetto Shepard's pie as seen on the attached pictures to this review. Walmart made it so cheap I couldn't help but buy it. Vegetables under a dollar.
When I was growing up, my dad always had a large garden, [acres of land]. My family ate fresh vegetables of pretty much every variety all the time. This product reminds me of that time in my life...... these taste every bit as good as dad's did straight out of the garden! These are healthy, low calorie, easy %26 quick to prepare, and I love them! My grandchildren will devour them quickly whenever served and even remind me to keep them in stock!
The streamable mixed vegetables are the all around source of vegetables. The quality of the vegetables is as close to fresh as possible but due to the rapid and easy cooking process people are more likely to add them to their menu. Work careers leaves little time on weekdays for cooking but highly processed or fast foods don’t provide the best nutrition.
These veggies go great with so many dishes! They work well in chicken noodle soup, curries, pastas, and as a side dish with a little garlic powder and seasoning salt. To avoid heated plastic, I open and discard the bag and then microwave them in a glass bowl. They are consistently good quality with little variation from one bag to the next.
I have used frozen mixed vegetables for years. Usually with ground meat, canned tomatoes, and then add vegetable. Always good over rice, potatoes, or pasta. Add a can of chicken or beef broth if you want more of a veggie soup. Always cook onion in oil then add other ingredients.
I go through a lot of mixed vegetables for soups , stew and side dishes. Very versatile product no problems with spoilage as they are frozen and for the price they are a godsend and a way to get fresh vegetables worked into a more healthier diet. Very happy and grateful they are available.
these vegetables actually are not as good as the ones at Aldi's. at Aldi. they're always young, tender and delicious. The Walmart vegetables are sometimes old, tough and starchy.
Lately The Quality of The Vegetables Are Far Below Standard. It Looks Like Rotten Ruined Vegetables From A Poor Harvest! The Peas Are Bruised, Wrinkled, With Some Discoloration. The Carrots Are Broken With Chipped Off Pieces Scattered In. The Corn Is Fairly Ok But There Are Some Broken. This Is A Sorry Representation That Doesn't Reflect What I Used To Buy. What's Happening Walmart??? Is There No One Quality Inspecting or Even "Inspecting" The Quality-Inspectors??? This Is Not A Sudden Occurrence. This Is A Progressive Issue Being Overlooked After Repetitive Reports To Customer Service. The Same For Your Canned Mixed Vegetables! Check It Too. I Have Used Both And It's The Same. I'll Have To Check Out Other Brands Although "BRAND" Really Has Nothing To Do With It. The Same Experience of Food-Quality Is The Same Despite It. Walmart It's IMPERATIVE To Get To The Root of This Issue! It CanNOT Be Ignored Any Longer. I Do Like The Fact It's A Steamable Bag For The Option. Usually I Cook On Stove Top and Oven So It Doesn't Apply For Me At This Time. It Would Be Nice If It Had A Zip-Top To Close It Easily. I Have To Find Different Ways To Close It Which Usually Requires Scissors And Twisting Close.
