Everything frozen I ordered came to my door still frozen. Fresh foods were still cool and fresh when I opened the bags. My husband prefers to go to the store; he is a shopper by heart. I like to order the delivery which has been great for me because recently I had a stroke and I am still recuperating.
I personally dont mind that the shredded variety has "powdered stuff" on it to prevent it from sticking together. God knows how much of the stuff we eat has stuff in it that we cant even pronounce the name of whatever it is. Pretty much anything you purchase to eat will have something "done" to it. It saves the manufacturer time and lots of money by allowing things to be kept forever (ever eaten a chicken nugget? ) Go ahead and try it if your too busy or because of health restrictions cant sit or stand to grate a pound of cheese! I know I certainly cant! We would end up with only grated cheese for dinner if that was the case!

A wonderful melty cheese. Really good in grill cheese sandwiches. Wonderful in burritos, in all Mexican food in fact. Sprinkle over salads as a finishing ingredient. A very nice addition to mac %26 cheese. Top off that baked potato with it. All Great Value shredded cheeses are really good for whatever you're cooking or baking. Very good price too. Just get in the kitchen and let your imagination go wild. I know you'll come up with some great dishes. Happy cooking!
I really enjoy this cheese. Although, I feel the overall price for cheese is too expensive in general. This cheese is a good value, all things considered. The texture is good and it has an excellent melt to it. The color is really appealing to the eyes. My family enjoyed this topped on some homemade crockpot refried beans. Delicious!
We go through a lot of shredded cheese with our grilled cheese sandwiches, casseroles, cheese crisps, eggs, burgers--you name it. We get rather tired of cheddar, so the Monterey Jack is such a refreshing change of pace. It's got pep without an overpowering pepper taste (I don't like peppers). It melts well and just brings it up a notch.
to confirm something I love cheese I also know that I can't afford to buy lots of cheese because it's so expensive anymore but Walmart here gives you the ability to get Jesus and varieties and different flavors and be able to afford to buy it plus the Jesus tastes excellent
I have always bought Walmart brand cheese. Taste is as good as name brand. My biggest complaint is Walmart (and Kroger) both freeze these bags of shredded cheese and it creates a nasty gooey mess for customers! I understand why they do it but it is a big turn off. And because I have groceries delivered, I am not able to look at the bags before buying, to get bags not gummy.
I originally used to buy it because it was OK for the value, but after returning to the name brand cheese my food had taste. I guess you get what you paid for. It's good for those who can afford it neither can I, but if I'm gonna pay for something I prefer to pay for farmland, Cheese or segmento brand
Tossed it out after first use. I put shredded Jack cheese in bowls, topped with hot homemade veggies stew. It melts but stays at the bottom so you can scoop up a bit as you eat the stew. The consistency of this cheese when melted was like mozzarella--unusually stringy. But then it was like chewing a ball of rubber that never reduced. I actually had to remove it from my mouth (thankfully I was alone.) Strangest thing I have ever experienced. I don't know how this cheese is made, but it is quite different from any Jack cheese I have ever eaten and definitely will not buy it again.
