These Great Value Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips taste like the name brand, but at a reasonable price. They are quite salty, so I eat them with reduced fat sour cream as a dip. Satisfying crunch and fiber too. Very good in the summer when drinking lots of water or any refreshing drink.
I will admit, going from only ever having Doritos to this, it DID taste slightly differently than Doritos.. but it wasn't a BAD taste, cause looking at the nutritional label and ingredients I realized: "Wait.. the reason why it tastes different is because it doesn't have any RED40 in it." the fact that it's half the price of Doritos without anything artificial is a steal for me. I haven't done any research on what it meant by using a "Bio-engineered ingredient", but I am just assuming it means the very wheat used to make the chips. Crops are already "bio-engineered" via selective breeding for the best yield, I imagine whatever was done was just another step further to result in more yield. Which is probably why it's so cheap!! I'd slowly swap out Doritos with these in my diet, and I'm sure those who are allergic to RED40 greatly appreciate finally being able to dry Doritos. 5/5 would recommend!!
do you remember Bravos? they were I think Herrs version of Doritos? I'm like 99% sure these are them. they're like 100000% better than Doritos at a much much better price. I have never been so impressed by a store version. usually store versions are like regular tortillas with some word dust on them, these are well coated and just so freaking good. I would recommend to everyone.
I stopped buying the “name brand” nacho tortilla chips because they have gotten ridiculously expensive. When I found these, I didn't expect them to be as close to the “name brand” BUT THEY ARE! I'm very excited that these are now available and are just as good and at a great price! I have even tried the spicy version of these and they are also great!
These Great Value Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips have quickly become a staple in my pantry because they offer the perfect balance of flavor, crunch, and affordability. Honestly, I find that these chips taste just as good, if not better, than the more expensive name-brand alternatives I used to buy. They have a bold, savory seasoning that hits the spot every time I'm craving a salty snack. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them is by pairing them with a side of cottage cheese—the contrast between the crunchy, cheesy chips and the cool, creamy cottage cheese is a delicious snack hack that everyone should try at least once! Because they are so budget-friendly, I don't feel guilty about grabbing a bag whenever I shop. If you are looking for a high-quality snack that doesn't break the bank, I cannot recommend these enough. They are a fantastic value and a total must-have for any household.
The GV nacho cheese tortilla chips are good and tasty, they're almost as good as the brand name ones, except the flavor is not as flavorful as the others, it's not bad. it's not as strong, but otherwise I'll continue to buy the Great value brand, like always, why pay more than you have too!
Tastes as good as the big brand and for a very reasonable price. You can just about buy 2 for the price of 1 major brand and never know the difference. Good quality and good price
to each his own on this one because i did not like the excessive seasoning and i felt a doritos brand was better but the crunch and value was great...
I DO NOT recommend these only because of the MSG. I have been eating them. They are good. Sometimes they aren't cheesy enough, too salty, or too thick. They aren't consistent. I was getting bad headaches and couldn't figure out why. Then I realized they have MSG. I thought most had stopped using it years ago, but I guess not. It gives me bad headaches.
I'm not sure what happened but they must have changed the recipe (and bag) because it barely has any cheesy flavor at all. I get some kinda of powder texture on it but there's no flavor. very bland.
