In giving pills to my three (3) dogs, my Vet recommended giving these meds with cream cheese as dogs love cream cheese. Regular cream cheese has a great deal of fat in it. :( Neufchatel Cheese Brick has 1/3 the fat and ohhhhh... My dogs just love this very creamy, cream cheese and don't care if there's a pill in it. :)
A creamy spread that can be used in more than one way! Very tasty in sandwiches and delicious on toast! Also, it can be used to make ham rolls for snacks, yum! (use thin slices of ham, spread Neufchatel cheese on, (thin or thick layer, as preferred) then roll.
Love this reduced fat alternative to regular great value cream cheese.. both have great tastes and my preferred choices but sometimes I like to reduce the fat content (because I am a cheese head) and so, this is my go-to! It combines wonderfully with macaroni %26 cheese; white sauce; queso dip; and even with my black bean chipotle ranch feta %26 olive oil garden rotini pasta, sprinkled with peanut powder
Taste, texture and packaging always as expected. Never been disappointed in this product and I have used it for many years . Started using this the first time I saw it. Normally don't like "light" versions of a product but this one is an exception. Will continue to use this product unless a recipe requires the full fat version and I've never yet come across one that does.
I bought this expecting it to taste like lite or fat free cream cheese, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's actually really good. I can't tell much of a difference between this and regular cream cheese. I'm definitely switching over to this cheese I can't pronounce!
Love this traditional, simple, all-natural product. No metabolism-slowing, insulin spiking seed oils, 1/3 less fat without additives or fillers like the "spread" products that come in tubs. I can't taste a difference between this and full fat cream cheese when it's on a bagel. Neufchatel plus sour cream is what I use for onion dip (just add an onion soup packet then salt according to taste.) No seed oils necessary. (Most tub dips and spreads have oils as a cheap filler ingredient.) I buy Neufchatel with every order, and Marketside Asiago cheese bagels. They have iron filings and of course pesticides, which we don't need, but they're cheap and I can't find any other bagel at Walmart or anywhere locally that taste like real bread. Ultimate Bagel Technique: Pre-steam sliced bagel halves sandwiched together before toasting them by microwaving for 15s, or pre-heat the sandwiched halves in the toaster oven. Salt the steaming bread to bring out the flavor, then lightly toast. Try pickled jalapeño peppers or salted, dried off cucumber %26 tomato slices. Dip a cream cheese bagel in salt sometime if you like soft pretzels. If I was to improve this Neufchatel cheese, I'd let it develop more tang and salt it a little more. I've had inexpensive local brands of Neufchatel that had slightly more character. But this is good enough for me.
This is actually pretty good and I enjoy having it on my bagels. It's definitely softer and tangy than cream cheese. I don't mind it, I like it and there's nothing wrong with the texture or the taste. Mines was definitely not gummy and not expired. It is not better than cream cheese and nothing can be better than it when it comes to bagels but it is a good low fat alternative to cream cheese. I did put a light drizzle of honey on my neuchatel cheese when I had it with a sweet bagel. I would get this again. I love that I don't have to wait for it to get soft when it's already at a spreadable texture. So good and enjoyable to have.
i truly love this cream cheese like product. I add it to everything. best added to scrambled eggs. and I add it to mac and cheese to make it extra rich. i think everyone should try it and use it everyway you use cream cheese. it is just a little cheesier flavor. very nice, oh freezes better than cream cheese too. doesnt get grainy.
Only cream cheese I'll buy for my bagel. It's a lighter version of the regular full fat one. For me it tastes so good and I never liked cream cheese before especially full regular fat one. Dislikes: For the past month or more, it seems that even though the package still shows 8oz, I'm getting less than that in the package. There's always a chunk of it missing in a corner so I have less to put on the bagel. I can only eat a bagel if there's a good amount of Neufchatel on it. Feel like I'm getting cheated by less product and paying more money.
Do yourself a favor %26 spend a little more on the Philadelphia brand Neufchatel cream cheese. This GV brand has an inferior taste %26 texture. It's salty, gummy %26 sort of sour-ish. I though it might be expired, but the best buy date was good for another 4 months. Not worth the savings.
