Great Value Nutritional Yeast Flakes, 5 oz

I almost didn't buy this because of the negative reviews. First I will say if you use Braggs Nutrional Yeast or similar products you will notice a difference in taste and color. I have been using Braggs for a while and was never a fan of the flavor but it wasn't bad either. The synthetic vitamins in Braggs give it that bright orange/yellow color. This product only has the vitamins and minerals in the the yeast. I prefer the taste of the Great Value Nutritional yeast. In fact I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it so much I would eat it with a spoon. I say give it a try you may like it but don't expect it to taste like the other nutritional yeasts brands with the brighter yellow/orange color.

I bought this as a cat food topper as recommended for my diabetic cat. He LOVES it! On days when he doesn't have much appetite, I sprinkle a little on top of his pate and he gobbles it up. Also great if you have a sick kitty without much appetite. This really gets them to clean their plate!

I can no longer seem to buy the brand with the yellow label from Walmart so halfheartedly tried the store brand. I don't know what's going on with the other reviews, but my jar was fine. It's a near identical trade off in taste %26 texture and less expensive. So two thumbs up for me.

I add nooch to everything. I was happy to see that great value made their own at a good price point like this, so now I can keep my pantry stocked at all times. It tastes no different than any other nooch. It's addicting and has lots of health benefits. Keep it cheap and I'll keep buying forever!

It's decent nooch. Good if you don't want strong flavor, but if nooch flavor is what you're looking for, another brand might be a better choice.

Doesn't have the added vitamins like Bragg's. This yeast is so tasty though. It will make everything taste like Cheeto dust: Popcorn, pizza, mac n cheese, soup, veggies, salad, nachos. I love it, especially since I do not eat cheese.

This dues not taste like nutritional yeast. It has more of a milk powder texture and taste, with a hint of butter flavoring. Maybe it would work with lighter flavored cheeses? I have not tried yet, but have sprinkled it over other foods. Bland.

They were out of my usual brands so I got this one. Its almost white (not yellow like nooch usually is) the flakes are heavy, and its near flavorless. My cats still liked it, but I instacarted some from another store for myself. Stick with Bragg or Bobs Redmill.

it is nothing more than regular brewers yeast. it is NOT nutritional yeast!!! it is a live culture and will ferment if you use it as you would nutritional yeast. nutritional yeast is not a live culture and is grown in vats of molasses then dried into flakes or rolled into tiny pellets.

There's a paper cover between the cap and the tube. The cap doesn't twist off. I don't know if it's just this one. I tried pulling it off and it didn't come off so I just punctured holes through the paper cover that's supposed to come off and let you use the spice dispenser holes. The flakes come out like powder and not flakes. Better to squeeze than shake because it gets everywhere. Unbelievable
